Even for a "Rat", I had goosebumps this morning when I saw a tiny mouse caught in a mouse trap, that exterminators installed here and there, in this building yesterday. Yesterday, a lady in another apartment had an apple chewed up on her sink, during the night.

Like a good city person, I wore gloves and had a pair of pliers, to remove the critter from that trap....lol I didn,t want to get into contact with that in anyway. Surely we will find more in the next few days, now that the traps are installed.

    *yuck* is the word.

What can we do, those mice are pests that cause a lot of damage and if allowed they will take over a place. They have to be combatted they are better off leading their existence out in the fields. I know from experience they chew cables, shoes and cloths. A little nibble on a tie or a shoe and it's finished.

Don't use the glue traps--they're worse than the old-fashioned ones. Little buggers tear themselves apart trying to get away. Not for the faint of heart!

Hehe. poor JH and i know the feeling . Them buggers are always in our Pole Shed and trying to build nests in our cars so there are traps everywhere .

The only ones i feel bad about killing are the little field mice cause they are so cute but cute doesn't help them when i see the damge they do.

    I'm with you rebel8...I don't think clue-traps are humane.

You should have a mouse walk out from under the hood of your car and sit on the windsheild wiper while your flying down the Mass Pike. It happened while my wife was driving and she nearly paniced. They found a way into the heating ducts in her car and I had to take apart the dashboard to get them out. Fortunately no wiring was damaged and I was able to get rid of the smell as well as the mice.

This is a 6 apartment building and I had 1 tiny field mouse, the lady below me also had 1 small field mouse caught in her traps, and in another apartment 2 larger mouse caught, and all that happened during the night.

I guess they came in by here last winter or early spring......Now it's repaired....

A good thing I had the small mouse in my trap, not a larger one, because I don't know if I would have dared get close....lol

We don't have a problem w/mice in the house. Sometimes they enter the garage to eat spilled bird seed. That is my fault as they're only trying to find food.

We did have them in the attic at our last house. It was a very wooded area. A lot of adorable field mice - those huge ears are so endearing. But listening to them scurrying in the walls at night wasn't pleasant.

D-Con makes them bleed internally. That's sick. And I agree w/the glue baits. Argh! Best are the mouse traps which are swift and over with in a split second.

Now those cat-size rats are a different story........ my daughter saw one climb down the village sewer. That was at night.............that ended my nighttime walks.
