This just out of curiosity but I just wanted to know if there are any or if you know of any who might post here on JWD that use to serve in those ways.

I know some former missionaries, MTS grads, traveling overseers, some on JWD but all ex-JWs. I think the closer a JW gets to the middle of the poobah circle, the more likely they are to be disillusioned and leave.

I concur with that. When I was "merely" a publisher I was all happy and fine in my little JW paradise, but when I started to move up the corporate ladder it was the beginning of the end for me.

    I would tend to agree.

    Well, at least this much:

Being at the heart of the BS tends to guarantee that if you have any notion of "rebelling," you will fed enough to nurture the desire.

I attended the MTS about 10 years ago. About 4 of us have left the truth.

    Amen.....

I was headed in the direction of the "poobah circle" and definitely had inside info that even many elders did not...I ran in social circles with CO's, DO's, school instructors (but was none of those things myself) and got a lot of the "scoop" from them, the way things "really" are in the Borg, Sadly, one thing I observed with them is that many have been at this their whole life, decades. If they left now, they would have nothing financially and are too old to start another career (other than a Wal-Mart Greeter) I couldn't resist

(BorgCO becomes Walmart Greeter, mourning in plastic sackcloth, scratching his head wondering "how'd I go from disillusioned CO to JC to this so fast ????")

It was this last CO in my old circuit would be my undoing....when I found out he was golf buddies with the PO and Service Overseer, I knew it was mene mene tekel parsin for 'ol Snake.

And yes, I became disillusioned about 5 years ago.(I think I have lurked here off and on that long).... I'm slow... hopefully not another 5 years before freedom..for reasons I will one day share (related to this topic).

That's because we got to see firsthand how deceitful the BOYZ in Crooklyn are when the letters arrive and are opened and read with the warning not to share them with the congregation.
