A friend gave my wife a sack of yellow squash yesterday. We love them. However, within the mix was one we've never seen before. We don't know what it is. Can you help?

A former next door neighbour used to grow what he called "chinese cucumbers" that looked like that. They're kind of cucumbery-melony tasting. He used to make a cold soup with them, kind of like vichyssoise.
