    Freedomfrog,

I had many of the same symtoms, but after I described them to my Dr. He said he thought it was my blood sugar. So the next time it started, I had my glucose tablets handy. I put 2 in my mouth, sat down, and I could feel myself becoming normal again. Just for the heck of it, would you get some tablets, they cost a couple of dollars and put them in your purse. Get a flavor you like. Some have a sweet-tart candy taste.

I have panic attacks also, the first time I was in Walmart and all of a sudden it felt like the walls were closing in on me, my heart was beating out of my chest, I was sweating like crazy, and I couldn't catch my breath. By the way those are some signs of a heart attack, but being the nurse I am, and all knows that we are the worst patients, I got in my car and drove home!!!

My husband took one look at me and took me straight to the hospital!! I was fine of course after several blood tests and EKG they gave me Xanax. I took it but it zonked me out so bad I try not to take it.

Knock on wood, none for about 6 months. I'd better shut up before I give myself a panic attack!!!

I love the zanex, it does help but I dont want to make a habit of it. I suffered anxiety attacks for a while whenever I left the house. I insisted on going home and I could not drive fast enough to get there. To beat it I drove longer and furthur away from home, most times out of my way, and now I don't have them. I haven't taken Zanex in months, but I keep it nearby like this weekend when I travel to a concert in Harvard, Conneticut to see the Brooks and Dunn concert.

These attacks suck and if you begin to have them frequently see a doctor. The side effects from Zanex weren't that bad for me. The scrip was for three times a day and I took one only when I started having an attack.

Panic! Ah yes! My 'old friend' who I have lived with my whole life!

Now, as soon as the panic starts, I greet it mentally with an 'Hello! How are you!' It doesn't like that and so it tends to recede very quickly.

Everyday, I panic as I'm an agoraphobic. I know it will never go away, but I consider myself the bravest person in the world and tell myself how clever I am standing up to fear everyday!

I admire heroes who have to stand against adversity....firemen, policemen, coastguards, soldiers, etc They have to stand and fight running away from dreadful situations everyday.

I, make my own dreadful situations. ie walking out of the front door and so I know what it is to do the opposite of what your mind tells you.

Embrace the fear. Let the panic happen. Well done for coping! Don't fear it coming back. Allow it!

You know how some people "snaps" and end up going crazy? That is a fear of mine especially when I go through these attacks. You wonder what makes people go off the deep end.

I think of that often when I have several of them. You are not alone. I keep Passion Flower extract at my desk and at home for just such occasions. Sometimes in the past I have snapped but never killed anyone. Just yelled and hit a few people. Nothing too awful bad. I always wonder if one day it will get worse. Of course that is the anxiety talking. Never ending cycle.

Panic attacks and Low blood sugar attacks are very similar. I have both. I can tell the difference because I have had them both for so long. I would suggest taking the glucose pill as well just to rule it out. If you don't have one a small cup of orange juice can work as well.

BEST WISHES and Can I come by for some home made fried chicken? I will wash dishes.

Go see your doctor and get some Xanax, seriously, its great stuff, and you need it, if you suffer from regular panic attacks or general problems with over anxiety. It has been a life saver for me. Basically I can carry on a normal life, and I'm not such a pain to be around.

I was getting anxiety so much at one point that I was drinking a bottle of Jack Daniels per night or every two nights. Now while that made me feel better, I knew I had a problem, and was just drowning my fears and pressures of life. I needed meds to cope with it. I take mine any time I feel like I will be put in an uncomfortable situation, or must be subjected to large crowds.

Funny thing is I'm a great public speaker, and I play guitar / sing in a very active blues band. Neither of those affect me at all.

Sure, The chicken is on the menu for tonight. It's been in the frig so it's ready to go...Just hop on a plane and well save you some.

I've had panic attacks but not (as far as I know) low blood sugar attacks. I'll try the tablets to make sure it's not that. I know that my sugar has been tested before for high sugar and the test came back fine.

The passion flower sounds right up my alley...I'm more of a person that does natural meds or remedies. Though I do take coventional meds if I have to go that way.

About a year ago, I had the worst panic attack when i was driving.....and couldnt pull over!! I was going through a construction zone, the lanes were slim and curvey. There were brick walls on both sides. I thought forsure I was going to pass out and die. Nothing worse than driving in those conditions with a big camper next to you taking up what little room you have in the first place. Boy was I a happy camper when that was over!!!
