Isn't it so very strange, if you have questions and doubt about the 'society', you will be vilafied and cast out to eternal damnation for your 'evil' ways!!

But a cloak of sanctity is placed over these scum bags to hide their rotten deeds from the eyes of the world. And for good measure to hide it from the families sitting right next to him/her!! Not a word must be spoken against them!

I think I'll go and throw up now.

I know at least two, and I just heard that a girl (JW) I knew was molested by her Grandfather, he was not a witness however.

She was sent to stay with him for the summer by her JW parents because they needed some time alone..the Grandfather had just got out of a mental institution.

She just told me he molested her when she was 8. She was afraid to say anything..

I remembered meeting him and knew that the girls Mom did NOT like him and thought something was mentally not right about him, and yet they still sent their two small children to stay the summer with him and his wife. (their step grandmom). Because the wife wanted to spend more time alone with her hubby, she felt the kids would get in the way.

She never did want kids and only had them because her hubby wanted them.

I felt so bad for the girl as she has been seeing a therapist for 3 years she said.

She is just so happy to be back in touch with me as I know what she went through with her parents..

I think that I know of about 10 people. It's so very sad. They are all messed up and still trying to serve Jehovah. And I don't think that they have a clue about why they are so unhappy.

I wanted to bump this up as I noticed some commented on it a couple months ago. Some newer JWN members may be shocked to read of the abuses suffered by former JW members on this thread- but it serves the purpose of access to important information of what is going on inside the Jehovah's Witnesses right now.

LV101- How sad that this lady who's married to an elder suyffered sexual abuse when younger. It's good you told her to pursue a lawsuit against the WT society. But unfortunately it sounds as if she has fear of the WT society still and is controlled by that fear to remain silent. Sadly, this story could be told a million times by others as well.

DARIOKEHL- Nice to have you on the board. I'm sorry you were gossiped about. It is so weird that the elders will do whatever they can to protect pedophiles, yet normal nice people are bashed constantly. It reveals their priorities.

VIOLIA- I'm so sorry that you were abused. I hope you have experienced some healing in time.

CLARITY- It is bizarre that the elders make a bigger deal in harassing people who question the organization instead of harassing pedophiles who groom potential young victims within the congregation. Once again, the WT society's priorities are very skewed.

SNOOZY- You have to question the sanity of parents who would send their little girl to stay with a wacko grandfather who just got out of a mental insitute. How sad that nobody cared for this little girls welfare. Sounds like child protection services should have stepped in.

DEEDUBS- It is very true that child sexual abuse happens in many different religions. And like the Jehovah's Witnesses - many different religions have horri and ineffective policy's in dealing with child sexual molesters . Most religions want to save their own reputation and prevent negative media attention from exposing their bad policy's so they aren't held liable for it. It's ridiculous.

NOLONGERWAITING- You knew 10 people who were molested in the Witnesses ? Wow. That's a lot. How sad for these victims.

BSMART- Yes, I believe the 2 witness rule is still in effect regarding child abuse inside the Witnesses. It's ridiculous

YES. she's in her late 50's now and still in religion. happened when one of the losers (i don't think they had elders in this time era) was driving her home after one of the meetings and she was pre-teen. she was also molested by one of her older (blood) brothers. her father had died when she was very young and left w/no one to care/protect her. she met/married a wonderful man who is an elder today.
