Anybody remember that stinking comment in a 1950s Witchtower,
"it is difficult for the holy spirit to influence those with a colorful personality"
I guess they really mean it is harder for the babble and trick society to control them.

This one came from the Feb 15 Watchtower 1963 :
Hamsterbait~ Well that explains me being DF'ed 3 times. Too colorful..lol
That's the most ridiculous shit I've ever seen ha mstrbait!
Sparky, only three times huh? I'd have thought more than that. Who knew?
I remember being warned about being "rebellious." Dull boring-suit grey personality asshole drones.
You're going to hell if you have more personality than Nathan Knorr? Damn, I thought they were strict before....
(Sam Kinison impression): open up the pearly gate--ROAR--(slam)--"Oh!" People pounding on the pearly gates: "Let me outta here! I thought it was the gate to heaven--it was the gate to hell! Oh! Oh! OHHhhhh!"
Far be it from me to make sport, but the guy's saying you're going to hell if
you have more personality than him. This could explain how the 144,000 disap-
peared from early Christian history without a trace, though.
Frankly, if you can knock the Jews after the Holocaust, you're not the first person I want to
learn self-control from.
Scene: A peaceful gathering of JWs-no "colorful personalities" present.
Turn your brains, personalities, and spine off!!!
"...it is difficult for the holy spirit to influence those with a colorful personality"
Could this have been actually an indirect reference to JUDGE RUTHERFORD?
If anyone in the Watchtower had a "colorful personality", it would certainly have been him!

He was definitely under the "influence" and "saturated" with something. Did the later leaders of the org often try to steer members away from Rutherfordian influence in the decade or two after his death? Just curious.
And I wonder if it was just this sort of teaching that made my mother worry so much about my "artistic personality."
