I love the permutations around ID-ite/ID-ot/IDiot/IDiotism/ID-otic etc. too. I suggest we regularise the spelling to exclude the i after the D, and of course always have the ID in upper case.

We wouldn't want people to confuse ID-ots with idiots, or ID-otism with idiotism,would we now...?

I've not found prior usage in this context; the thought I may have coined a neologism makes this prolix sesquipedalian very happy.

What seems to be most curious is the lack of interest Behe is generating among creationists. John Lynch addresses this topic here. Once you're profiled in Awake!, it seems like no one will take you seriously anymore...

I recall variations on "IDiot" going around for a while: at least since October 2005. (See here and here, for example.) It's fairly common on science-related blogs-- in fact, you'll see it used in comment #13 in the Lynch link, above.

Having only got through chapter 3 of Behe's book, I wasn't aware that he actually claims that God created the exquisitely designed malaria bug. For any normal theology, this is completely self-defeating. JWs have traditionally claimed that critters like predators somehow just changed their ways in order to become such, and have vaguely claimed that all disease is the product of man's fall into sin. Fundies are even more vague, simply claming that all such nastiness is the result of "the curse" but never actually connecting the dots, i.e., that God must have deliberately created all manner of nastiness in order to create "the curse". None of these morons ever squares the circle by dealing with the fact that a God who would create such nastiness is not worth anyone's time, let alone worship.

"Intelligent Design" as taught by the churches is ALWAYS clobbered; Universe created in 6 24-hour days. True "Intelligent Design" is unassailable- except by those who passionately don't WANT to believe it! If you want to test this out- paste a paragraph or two from your chosen Evolutionary Church, and let's put it to the test together!

I love it when someone thinks people he hasn't ever met are below him intellectually. I have a slight form of dislexia so i have to struggle on... but Runningman makes me laugh when he thinks others are below him... get back to us stupid idiots when you find the cure for cancer Runningman, other than that, you're just like everyone of us... probably bright in a lot of ways, but obviously challenged in others. Nothing makes me happier than to see someone think they're superior, I see that everyday here on campus at UGA. I can say for a fact that the ones with that line of thinking are almost always the worst students... you'd make a great frat boy runningman.
