Talk about my own crisis of conscience!!

Im a republican, and have always voted for republican candidates for president, this upcoming election leaves me very little choice. This may be the first presidential election since 1996 that I wont vote, nor can I even get excited over.

    Let's see

    1.Guiliani---anti gun

    2. Romney--- A lifelong mormon that was pro-choice????

    3.Fred Thompson---Supposedly a staunch atheist and anti-christian

4.Mccain----He looking the best so far, but I have always though of him as a closet liberal.

Is there any more Im missing?

I cant stand the thought of voting for Hillary, Obama seems somewhat appealing to me, yet he is a democrat, and I would feel like a total traitor voting for a dem for president.

There's no way I could ever vote for an atheist, yet he claims he's conservative.

If Mccain gets nominated I will vote for him, but if not, I guess I will sit out this election.

When giuliani said that he didn't believe that America's foreign policy had anything to do with how the rest of the world viewed America he lost my vote. Hell he should have been tossed out of the auditorium on his ear.

That type of ignorant arrogance has caused us to have such problems over the last few years.

JunctionGuy with all due respect to you - you might have to move off your Republican stance. I agree; it's frustrating...........

My grandparents used to vote Democrat (they were Iowan farmers) ALL THE TIME. My mom would say if the Devil himself were Democrat you'd vote for him.

I just hope there's a qualified person to vote for......... I consider myself neither Dem or Rep.... I just hope the best man/woman gets the job. Perhaps it will be an Independant this time? Probably not. Who knows.

I get so fed up w/all of them..... government has got SO BIG and there is so much waste.

Things to keep in mind are that the Dems do want to get of Iraq , where as the repubs have no intention of leaving an area that is pointless to occupy at this point but for the oil . GW does not know how to run a war and should be removed prior to the next election. I really feel the Dems have the next election whether it be hillary or obama . I would like to see a libertarian get in , myself.

Why not support the best candidate, regardless of party?

By confining ourselves to the favorite of a pet party, we continue to perpetuate the situation where we are confronted with 'hold-your-nose and vote' type of elections.

I've never voted in my life, all politicians seem like a bunch of self serving rich nuts who only care about their supporters who donated money. I worked for a data processing company in DC years ago and I did some reports for the government. One was contributions to congressmen and you wouldn't believe the amount of money individuals give to them. I wish I had noticed the total amount, I just noticed how much paper it printed out and some of the contributions, like $5000.00 from some people.

undecided, i think when people don't vote at all, they are allowing the problem to continue. in my opinion, if more people voted issues, rather than parties, politicians would be on their toes more. also, in my opinion, if you don't vote at all, you have no right to say anything about the candidates. just my opinion.

Looking back since the sixties promises were made to us by individuals who could not keep them because of special interest groups, party lobbying, the money bankers etc.. One man or woman cannot fix what is broken even if they mean well. All too often the two party system allows the other party to check and check the party that is trying to do something .

Remember some of these promises: The following quotes are from presidential candidates. Two Chickens in every pot, The New Frontier, The Great Society, One New World Order, No New Taxes, Read My Lips, etc. Non.partisanship issues are far and few between when it comes to the two party system.

Take Health Care for example, this should be a non.partisan issue. Yet Americans are denied good quality health care because of special interest groups in both parties in the health care industry. Even those who think that they have good coverage find out too late that they are not covered for such and such life threatening illnesses. They pay and pay and yet are denied the life saving medical treatment that they thought they were covered for because of all the technical language and double speak that even some lawyers give up on.This should not exist. And yet it still does.

What candidate has the will and the power to fix the health care problem? This is just one of many domestic problems we have while being tied down with foreign problems.

When will The Congress, The House, The Supreme Court and The Two Party System start taking care of it's own?

Forgive me, I usually don't go off on a tangent, especially when it's about politics. I don't mean to offend either party supporters.
