I've seen some df'd ones come back mightily. But if a person realized they've been hoodwinked, it's the beginning of the end!

I am not df'd. But I can assure you that I would have borne up well under it when I was a faithful dub. I would have felt deserving of it, and endeavored to learn from it and do better.

But how does one "recover" from learning that the WTS was part and parcel of the U.N. for some ten years and would df anyone who had the audacity to suggest that maybe it seemed a little , well, wrong?

How does one swallow being told in no uncertain terms that the ones that were alive in 1914 would definetely be here at the start of the great tribulation, then change that as though it was no big deal?

No, anything but hypocrisy and lies.....

I grew up on black and white television. It was normal for me, and I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything. Once I got a colour TV I saw blue skies, green trees, red hair, and yellow bananas. I would never willingly go back to watching black and white television. Once you know a belief is false and that you've been deceived, how can you go back? I can't imagine the mental gymnastics it would take for someone to go back and actually believe the JWs, let alone have a passion for it. Opening one's mind is not the same as opening the door to a room. A door can be closed without consequence. A mind, once opened, is never the same again. Closing it can require some major jumping through mental hoops.
