I used to water ski at Lake Tarpon and Lake Seminole with the aligators. And I used to water ski in Lake Erie with the Iron ore tankers.

My favorite lake is not a lake, but a bay -- the Chesapeake. Dipping for blue crabs, hunkering down in the boat during thunderstorms, watching the reflection of the sky at sunset, great blue herons fishing in the shallows, I could just go on and on.

I used to live on this lake in Florida. Lake Cannon! It was part of a chain of lakes with Alligators and Manatee amongst other wildlife.

Xena, first I'd like to say Congrats on your new marriage (not sure if your married yet??) You know, I was planning on moving to Scotland when I was younger, but I think the weather might be too dreary for me. Anyways, all the happiness to you two, and can I just say I'm a wee jealous, Ross seems like a great guy! ....and that Lake looks beautiful
Frank75: My Parents went to Lake Chelan for this company trip a few years back. My Mom didn't like it, more the company than the setting. They're separated now.... And...My Dad used to work in Okanogan, dumpy little town that it is, I've driven through it on my first and only trip to Canada, but I didn't see the Lake. I think the license plates about B.C. are spot on! BEAUTIFUL! -

I live in LAKEwood and my kids go to LAKES High School and LAKE Louise, and formerly LAKE City Elem. I like Puget Sound, its only a mile away, but I love the way ocean smells. You might think I am spoiled when I tell you that I really like the hours drive up to Mt. Rainier or a couple hours south to Mt. St. Helens.
Lake Union is cool, in Seattle, near to bay, with the Ballard Locks and fish ladders and wonderful parks and fish restaurants.

Hey JWDaughter!
I was in Seattle in March...I love Lake Union...Hey, I had the best Vietnamese food at Pho Cyclo on Capitol Hill...It's the lemongrass chili tofu on rice vermicelli! OMG! And I love Broadway Grill too. What's your fave restaurant in Seattle? -

My favorite lake is Lake Michigan. It is like a cold ocean. Very beautiful. Don't know how to post pictures, but if you get a chance to see any of the great lakes, don't hesitate.

I like Palomino and a little fish and chip place called Totem House (its by the ballard locks). The first is really nice, not too outrageous, but not a budget joint. Totem House is cheap and wraps the fish and chips in newspaper. It's kind of awesome.
Both are recommended because they have great memories. Palomino was some great bonding stuff with my mom and sister and the Totem House was the place we went when I was a kid to get fish we'd take to the 'dunes' at the park by the lake/locks. My best kid memories were when we went to the locks and on a ferry ride. . .the hot chocolate on the ferry boat was pretty awesome (for the same reason as the other eateries-happy association) too. The food is actually wonderful at both restaurants, but they are my favorites for other reasons.
I also like Spaghetti Factory-grown up happy memories with MY kids. They love it and we always have fun.
