The F & D S are indeed turning off a lot of established dubs from the Assemblies (The ones who know that they won't be struck down if they miss it)

The lack of adequate transport (old ones have to beg lifts from drivers)

The lack of food & drink

The lack of adequate toilet facilities

and an unspoken realisation that the quality of the speakers is nowhere near what it used to be...combines to make them succomb to ailments that would never otherwise have prevented them going

V...This is exciting! It is usually the conventions that draw the JWs to be "more appreciative" of the "well-oiled dishes" of the Watchtowergod! It is odd that this was what she chose to ignore, haha! I see more "ignoring" down the road in future months!

Let me see if I can sum it up without going.
The end is sooooooooooooooooooooooo close
Christians need to draw close to God by meeting attendance.
Obeying the WTBTS book publishing corporation is the same as following the christ in instruction
Feild service is needed to be counted worthy
Forget education and persue organizational goals
Send all the money you can spare , God loves a cheerful giver.

great news V - I'm really pleased that you can see some light with your other half - a true hardline dub would never miss a talk, certainly not a session, definitely not a whole day and heaven forbid missing the entire weekend. :-)

have you considered what might work on her mindset a bit further?

It was a nightmare assembly that made sweetpea and I think 'what are we doing here?' but later that week when i mentioned to her that I'd 'discovered' some society publications teaching that Jesus wasn't our Mediator - thats what really set the cat amongst the pigeons so to speak...

Any idea what her pet hates/hot buttons might be?

Did I fail to mention that we had a two DVDs to return by post in the bookbag? A yoga instructional video and Harry Potter, Goblet of Fire. ;)

Because Bibles have been printed and distributed, this is 1 of 3 signs showing Jehovah and The Christ are using the FDS???? That must mean that because God evidently always saw to it that the Bible was made available throughout the centuries, that the Roman Catholic Church and other Protestant members of Babylon the Great were being used by Jehovah to give the food at the proper time.

The convention our congo. is assigned to this year is but a few minutes drive away. This is the first time in 12 years that we have been assigned to a convention within 3 hrs. drive time. So what am I doing to show my appreciation for God's goodness? Why, going to the beach! Yes, three blissful days on the ocean.
