I guess I could say that some of the ones I knew back in the 60's and 70's sincerly believed. It's sad they were wrong. I don't know if that's a positive to believe a lie.

Some witnesses wanted a fairer more honest society. A faery tale world.

I don't know they seem to be wrong about everything the expoused. They were not any more moral than the worldly people I knew.

Ok the organization was against illegal drugs. Thats a good thing. Because if you do illegal drugs you could go to jail and have a criminal record and not be able to get a job.

But on the other hand being a witness you might not get a criminal record from doing illegal drugs but since they dont or didnt believe in education you cant get a much better job than a criminal.

It's really hard to find something good about that religion.

OK, They believed thou shall not kill. Thats a positive thing about the jw's.

But then they killed all of their innocent followers by denying them life saving blood transfusions.

It's all a front. People who are attracted to the JWs because of their sincerity and kindness will soon find out that it fades after time. Once they get you hooked, reeled in and baptized the wooing ends. You're on your own baby.

Even the sweet elderly who hand out candy to the kids at the meetings will drop you like a hot potato if you leave.

I am trying very hard to think of one good thing, but I just can't. Now that I'm on the outside looking in, I can only see the whole thing as a scam. I just feel sorry for those who haven't realized it yet.

When my mom was pregnant with me, some JWs gave her flack for getting pregnant "when we're so close to the end." One of the anointed sisters took my mom aside and told her not to let these people upset her, and to be happy about having a child no matter what time period it was.

As a child in the '50's going to this same KH with my mom there were around 7 people who professed to be of the anointed. They were kind and sweet even to a little kid like me, and as a result I have fond memories of them.

In the '60's some of the brothers in another congregation I was in, who were well meaning, would get all us teens together on Saturday nights, and we would study the WT magazine and be free to express ourselves. Apparently this was happening in a lot of congregations throughout the country, Soon after that, orders came down from the society stating that these "gatherings" were unnecessary and the WT should be studied within the family. So a good thing was no more...
