Every July 1st between 7pm - midnight you are legally allowed to set off fireworks. There's usually a fireworks show done by the NT government as well. The whole city and surrounding suburbs smells like burnt explosives. It's to celebrate the Territory's right to self govern (to a point as recently proven) so I guess that means the dubs have to miss out on the fun pity...

I've been to Alice Springs and camped near Ayers Rock (Uluru). An amazing and beautiful part of the country. I'd like to take the train from Adelaide to Darwin one day.
