Not really, Firpo Carr just happened to be around when reporters were looking for someone to say something about Jackson. He obliged the reporters, and said things in an attempt to support Michael, but he was not authorized by the Jackson family to do so.
It got to the point where the family asked Firpo publicly to stop talking to the reporters in Michael's behalf.
Firpo then appeared on a local KFI640AM radio show ever Friday in a segment called "Friday's With Firpo" in which he would give his opinions and spin on the weekly events of the Michael Jackson trial. After several weeks doing that another radio station offered Firpo his own radio show one day a week. As far as I know he still is doing that.
Firpo has a very slick way with words. Too slick though, he sounds like someone you shouldn't trust too far with anything of importance.
