"I've taken to sitting in the lotus position as in poppers' avatar for 20 mins each day contemplating my breathing. That to me is caring for my spiritual needs"
Good for you, ql. Just watching the breath, that's enough to return you to consciously experiencing your true nature. It doesn't get any more spiritual than that.
Where do you go for your spiritual needs?

As some wise friends have pointed out to me, what I seek is within me.
It's been there all along.
I just need to be awake to it.
It's working. I've never been more at peace.
Do I have a problem-free life? No.
Do I feel sorrow when I see or hear of the suffering of others? Yes.
But none of that changes that which is whole, that which contemplates the self.
Not the mind, but that which observes the thinking mind.
The Bible imprisoned me. WT doctrine abused be.
But now I'm free.

Great post, nvr. Feel the sorrow of others - that sorrow is as much yours as theirs, but not being attached to that sorrow is the difference between you and the "other" - they hang on to their sorrow, but while free you won't find that sorrow steering the course of your life because it flows right out of you. That's what comes with freedom. A "problem free" life is a pipedream, but with freedom comes a shift in how they are perceived: the "problems" are simply situations to be dealt with in the moment; with freedom those situations don't distract one from the peace that is felt within and they don't drag you back into storylines that obstruct your essential nature. Welcome to freedom, your true home. poppers
