Compaired to before, being active on JWD, are you more or less Spiritual now?
Philip
Actually JWD has had absolutely no impact on my spirituality one way or another. Thats highly and deeply personal to me and is not related in any way to this board. This board is great to get the truth out about the borg, but I don't think it is advertised or in practice has anything to do with steering spirituality or lack there-of in any manner. Nice place to come and chat though.

I think that getting to know the truth about the truth has allowed me to explore my spirituality more - but thats down to me rather than an internet site!
Personally I am here because I enjoy hearing of peoples experiences, chatting to friends and so forth.

Is the WTS reading JWD?
Cover article for 8/1/07 WT
SPIRITUALITY--What is it? How can you find it?
MARKS OF SPIRITUALITY
- Having love for God's Word
- Manifesting the fruitage of the spirit
- Praying to God regularly and sincerely
- Sharing the Kingdom good news with others
4th point shows a man sharing a WT publication with 2 men in the field...where's the Bible
Notice that God's name is left out of this article aimed at non-jws and Jesus is emphasized rather than "Jehovah" as in the articles aimed at jws.
Just about every religion claims to know the path to spirituality...are all of these on the path to true spirituality? Are any?...for many, the answer to those questions is no. They hold that spirituality means to "believe without belonging," that is, to believe in a god or a deity without belonging to a church...desire for inner peace and for meaning in life. They assert that those seeking spirituality need not look to religion at all.
One writer says: "True spirituality is something that is found deep within oneself. It is your way of loving, accepting and relatingto the world and people around you. It cannot be found in a church or by believing a certain way."
Who is this writer? What are his/her credentials?

Romans 8:6, KJV
With those words, the apostle (Paul) was pointing out that being a spiritual person is more than a matter of personal preference or inclination. Essentially, it is a matter of life or death...everlasting life in the future (CARROT).
Having "the mind of Christ" basically means having "the same mental attitude that Christ Jesus had." (Romans 15:5; Phillipians 2:5) In other words, a spiritual man is one who thinks as Jesus does and walks in His footsteps....
Does the WTS walk in the footsteps of the Christ or do they consider themselves "the Christ"?
The Bible helps you to get to know "the mind of Christ."
Does the WTS believe that anyone can understand the bible without their assistance?
A spiritually-minded person is one who is guided by God's spirit.
Through God's "spirit-directed organization" the WTS as indicated in the second baptismal question all jws since 1985 have agreed to?
Such qualities as love, kindness, and goodness were particularly evident in the way he treated those who were considered lowly members of society...John 9:1-8...First, Jesus did not overlook lowly ones but treated them with tender compassion. Second, he took the initiative too help others (did not leave it to the elders or the elders to the CO/DO). Do you see yourself following this pattern set by Jesus? (Do you see the 'mature ones' following this pattern?)...Or do you tend to favor those who are prominent and overlook those who are not? (see CO visit thread)

It continues and ends with the conclusion:
Do I want to associate with the people who are carrying out the worldwide preaching of the good news of God's Kingdom?'
First notice how the Messianic Kingdom slides to the background. As well, all the preaching by the Mormons, Baptists, and non-denominational churches is swept aside.

After coming in contact with the JW's, I've had to re-examine all my core beliefs. JWD has helped me broaden my thinking even more, challenging everything I took for granted. I've become much better at expressing what I believe, thanks to the practice here.
I also now hate careless evangelism.
Having contact with others like myself, from 2 1/2 years ago to today has been a great comfort in my becoming more aware.
I guess it is my turn.
Before coming to JWD, I was a cold, bitter person, no one has ever given me a hand. I have worked hard for everything I have and if I were to fall no one would be there to help me up. The Borg with their complete lack of love, had made me not care about other people, (With the exception of Barbara and our adopted daughter.) no one mattered to me.
I was going to give some examples; but, I am not yet ready, to tell you all, how cold I truly was.
Now, I am trying to be a better person, to help others without the need for a payback. I know now that if I were to fall my JWD family would be there for me and I am here for you all.
I am a more Spiritual person, thanks to many of you, thanks for helping me to be a better person.
Philip
I don't think I've changed spiritually, but I don't have it all together yet. I'm just taking my time and not stressing about it like I did when I first quit the dubs.
If you can equate "spirituality" with open-mindedness and being interconnected, I'd say the discussions on this board have only helped me in those regards.
I am glad spirituality does not have to equate to religiousness. Religions are clubs where people can pretend to be spiritual.
