A number of years ago Lee Greenwood sang this at the Madison, Wisconsin Rhythmn and Booms 4th of July celebration. It is the largest fireworks display in the country and the display is accompanied by the Madison Symphony Orchestra. While Mr. Greenwood sang this song he had orchestral backup. It was breath taking to say the least and the fly over by the F-16s was awe inspiring.

    Edited to say:

Let's put our political differences away for today and honor all the men and women who have left their families and nobley put their lives on the line -

Please enjoy all the beautiful pictures of the country ~ it is a mere taste of the diversity here in the States.

Here's Kate Smith singing God Bless America (with a wonderful video montage of American sights posted by the military).

I heard that Ms. Smith was despised Jehovah's Witnesses. Apparently, she saw right through them.

    Phil Vassar - American Child

My DJ friend took us to see Phil at a small local venue. I love his music, he's a brilliant songwriter. He writes a lot of the songs made famous by country singers today.
