Hello all.I just want to welcome any suggestions you might have to keep getting the molestation coverup and settlements in the forefront of the witnesses minds. As you know I talked with an elder and his wife who came to my door for 30 minutes about it. Also Mrs. Flipper and I have left upwards of 200 news release fliers on witness cars parked at kingdom halls. One of the posters says that at one hall where we left fliers, they got paranoid and suspicious and started patrolling the parking lot during every meeting. I've personally talked with a few of my witness family members about it with mixed results. What about you all? Any suggestions on how to reach the witnesses? I've also left these fliers in public shopping mall parked cars too. Have you had any success or interesting experiences to share so we may put our collective heads together and come up with some options to present this to witnesses? Believe me , I'd say 90% of them don't even know these settlements took place. Look forward to hearing from you all. Peace to you all, Mr. Flipper

I think we ought to consider putting together a 'standard' flyer and target 'key' members (you know the ones) in every Congregation (via post/mail) - I reckon we could cover the Western World between us

It would be good to have it nice, simple and personal...
UnConfused's post here http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/11/137417/1.ashx did just that

Flipper:
I applaud you in your efforts to get this news to the average JW. Sadly, this is definitely covered up and practically all of them are in blissful ignorance of this topic. I recently enlightened somebody there about this and made sure it was from a reputable news publication.
This is probably why they only want the average R&F to associate with active ones. They figure there is less chance that they will hear about any of their dirt that is covered up.
I really do feel they believe most negative news about them will never reach the ears of the average person there.

Midwich, very good suggestion. Think I'll mail out a lot of them this week . Thanks. Awake & Watching- How about sending some news release fliers out in your area?? Thanks!! Alpha & Omega, I agree keep it simple. The ap press release was. Long Hair Gal- I agree very much with you. That's the reason I'm mailing out to many congregations in this 100 mile area the news release from the associated press, so they can see it's in a secular newspaper, not a printed item from silent lambs. Peace to you, Mr. Flipper

Hi flipper. Good subject.
My local supermarket has a posting board for non-profit groups and community announcements. I am in a very "churchy" area and it's an eye-opener to see how these faith communities add to our quality of life. They really do!
The JW's could quite easily and *legally* post a "Follow the Christ" District Convention invite on the board but CHOOSE NOT TO.
So, Silent Lambs gets a space every week instead.
It's all good. :–)

National Public Radio might be one way to get some news out there, they often accept sound bites from people talking about all sorts of topics
