So how in the heck would do you know what the "true" religion is?! My attitude is this: Believe what you want to believe and stop judging others for what they believe.
My thoughts exactly how do you know what is the true religion.
Anyway i hope it all works out with your dad.
Why does religion have to do with so much of families lives.

What a lively family argument with JWs and born-again pentacostals!!!
One thing you could do is just say, "Oh, really? Thanks." every time she brings up something religious, e.g.:
SIL: "And if you don't believe in the rapture, you'll be left here on earth and burn in hell!"
YOU: "Oh, really? Thanks."
SIL: "All of you are children of the devil!"
YOU: "Oh, really? Thanks."
Just how long can she keep this up when those are your only replies?

Family dinners must be very unpleasant. Religion of all kinds brings out the worst in me. Bring booze. Drink it, share it and be as oblivious to the fallout as possible. Have your sober teenager drive you home. My best idea:)
