I have a MySpace account so I can stay in touch with my Young-Adult Children. I think it's a good way of keeping communication open.

I say good. Let them have a local needs talk about this. All that will do is cause the die hard bible thumpers to beat up more on the young kids. Who in turn will just hide their actions that much more, waiting for the day when they can branch out on their own and leave the religion of headcases behind them.

A number of reasons that my friends (and I) started exiting was because of the whole "higher education is bad" crap. Most of my friends all have gone off to college. It was not college that caused them to leave the religion, it was the over the top crazies in the religion that caused them to leave.

I love it when this stuff happens because all they are doing is causing more people - usually young ones - to see what they are all about (control) which just leads to more departures of their peeps.

    Dear Parents:

Sometimes a MySpace account can be a good thing. Last year my granddaughter ran away with her boyfriend, and we didn't know where they were hiding out. Her MySpace account led us to a young man who knew where she was. We had a detective call him, and he led them to her.

Oh, I forgot. JW kids don't have any problems, so they won't be running away with boyfriends or anything like that.

    Regards,

    SandraC

I use it also to keep in touch and track of my kids. It is also free, I am a cheap ass.

Back when we were kids, the more I was told by the JWs that something was "bad", the more fun I assumed it was... and did it.

looking_glass has my thoughts. This will only pull young ones away from the org because of them feeling less and less normal than everyone else. The WTS are digging themselves a hole.

Win Win situation for the WT really. On the one hand they can point to the talk and say "see! we warn kids about the dangers of the internet, passing personal information etc". On the other, they get to frighten members off from getting the truth about the WT.

Those out-of-touch Watchtower assholes don't even know what to do next.

    They're scrambling to survive.

    The Tower is crumbling!
