Legal takeover and Dismantling of the WT Possible?

  The events of the last couple weeks with regard to the UN scandal got me thinking that the time climate is increasingly right for the legal takeover and dismantling of the WT.

  I know that is a crazy thought, but could it somehow be possible? Now that the GB resigned from their posts, could a Rutherford-style takeover happen?

  The UN scandal signifies utter betrayal of the membership. Surely those high up and in a position of control in the organization must realize they have been sold out as well.

  For those who have contacts in high places in this organization, just what are their real feelings about all these things we discuss here every day?

  How many actually are fully aware of all these issues? Are they many, or are they few? How many hold the REAL power in the organization? Who are they?

  Are there enough good people that are just waiting for a rift to develope, so they can finally get the courage to stand up and do the right thing?

  For those who have knowlege of the laws, what could be done within the framework of the law? Could branches in other countries become independant of Brooklyn and defect? Could Kingdom Halls and congregations defect?

  I think this is a matter we could at least give some thought and discussion to.

  If we can at least split the organization into two groups, those who want to keep it the same and those who want to change it, then at least those who want to leave can leave, and those who want to stay can stay in something less harmful.

  In the meantime, hopefully the GB and the WT's history can be exposed for what it really is and maybe they can be held accountable for their crimes.

  some where at one time i sort of hinted at this possibility....

  how would you dimantle this org and diperse millions in assets.

  it did occur to me this would be possible....
  and now i read {somewhere} that they are making or seperating the congregations somehow into their own entitys? corporations maybe?

  {something to do with the much publisized 10-7 "secret" meeting.}

  read up on the various threads and see the general concensus about that.

  there is no doubt in my mind that the u.n. issue will strike hard.

  many wavering and having questions will be able to see the utter hypocrisy of it all. those die hard, will never see it and justify it at any costs.

  you bring interesting questions to the table.

  interesting concept, but the recent changes only make it harder- instead of going toward more of a one man show the wt is heading everyday to being run and control by "Committee" and anyone who has
  every worked with "Committtees" know that everyone wants to make suggestion, but no one want to be responisble for the results

  the org has shifted from just a few key power brokers to literally 5 corp that are completely INTER-DEPENDANT ON EACH OTHER

  sorta like which wheel on your car would you want to fall off at 70mph

  the org is being run today my not guys who graduated from HS or in some cases quit to pioneer and worked their way up thru the ranks

  pio, co do branch, and now bethel heavy- but instead guys out of college with corp views completely.

  from my understanding for example the Legal desk pretty much runs the Writing Dept- allow me to give you an example-

  in the old days the boys in writing could print and say anything they wanted to about the churches and gov- real Fire and Brimstone type guys-

  well Dave Olsen who is "WAS" a very good friend of mine was at my house one evening for dinner along with 6 former bethel couples

  he works in Legal- he told us that they have to go in court and try and clean up alot of sh!t that writing has left behind

  he sighted and example of what happend to him in court one day

  he was arguing before a judge and the judge had alread instructed his assist. to look up info on jw

  well the judge asked him "Do you teach that Satan controls all the gov?"

  and as he put it I tried to dance around it by saying god allows them to serve there. bla bla bla

  judge came back and asked him again- so he was forced to conceded that satan influences the likes of Hitler, etc --as he put it he gave it his best try

  then the judge asked him "Do you teach and believe that other religions other than jw are actually giving their worship to Satan?

  so he tried to dance around that one -"jah reads hearts -each person will be judged indiviually. bla bla bla

  so the judge asked him again-- and he conceded that if he felt other churches were correct he would belong to one of them= bla bla bla

  so after he finished the judge read to him some research that his assistant and done straight from the publication.

  then he told Dave:

  "let me make sure i got this straight-- "I work for the gov as a judge and therefore i work for the devil,

  I'm Catholic so i serve the devil as well--I just wanted to make sure i got your position straight"

  he argued his case and in about 6 weeks the ruling came down- they lost on this issue of appeal-

  now did the judge make his discision based on his views about jw-

  well as Dave told us- we don't know- possiblely, but we do know IT DIDN'T HELP[

  so alot of the boys in writing with 40 yrs of fulltime service are having their writing edited by some college guy with 2yrs of bethel service and thier jaws are locked

  like most corp- any press releases or printed matter on corp letterhead - must pass the Legal dept in most major corp

  WT is no different

  so i don't see any dismantling of wt

  as for the branches- there are too many CO and DO's and other guys at bethel who are more than willing to take over and run the branch if some branch overseer starts showing signs of disregarding Brooklyn's instructions

  you see all branch guys SERVE AT THE PLEASURE OF NY and to have reached that high in the org after 35-50yrs- have no kids, no retirement funds and then to mess around and get kicked out of bethel is sucide-

  so the wt makes it's men who serve around the world completely dependant on THIER SYSTEM of support and this way they are far less likely to turn away

  besides when you reach that level you rarely deal with the issues that sister single parent deals with anyway- your life is good
  in each country for you hang out with the rich bro in that country- thier boats, summer homes , ski trip, taken on cruises, etc

  your life is too good -

  so NO THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH "GOOD MEN"

  beside to reform the org- what does one reform it into

  think about this:

  The Org reforms itself from Being the Very Mouth PC of god-where all direction and instructions to mankind is coming from God himself---IN
  into being and known as just a book publishing company that merely offers Opinions on the bible

  I wish every JW could read those words JT. I don't think I have ready anything, anywhere, that might have more of a chance at getting through to the average, beat up ole JW.

  Thanks for your comments JT. I think we all gather it works the way you say and that is frustrating. I think it is sad if anyone inside knows the deal and goes along to save their own ass, while perpetuating something they know to be false and hurtful.

  Sometimes you just wish there was a better way, something that would make this thing crumble faster. Whoever designed this 'religion', designed it well and to survive at all costs.

  I studied this out when the reorganization first occured. It would seem impossible. First of all, When Rutherford took over, there were only three corporations and the officers were all the same, so he was "elected" as president of all three corporations, but not without illegally creating by-laws that gave the "president" COMPLETE power, thus doing away with the directors.

  Today, there are over a dozen organizations connected to the Society. Each one has it's own board of directors, NONE of the directors overlap in their directorship, in other words, each board of directors is distinct, no one hold two offices.

  Thus, the only thing that could happen is a takeover of one of the corporations. In the old days the PA corp. was the parent company. Not so today, their all unique cooporating with each other.

  But even if someone was to take over, say the New York Society, the reorganization has made it difficult to function. The reorganization made it so that all these corporations NEED each other.

  The Watch Tower of Pa HOLD all the copyrights, while the Watchtower of New York only publishes. So if the New York branch divorced itself, it would only be a name, it would have to publish NEW material. One must alway consider who hold the property. That is the key question. Is there another corporation that hold title to ALL the assets? The printing equipment?

  What good is the Watch Tower of PA and the Watchtower of NY if there is no property or printing equipment? These guys aren't idiots, they knew exactly what they were doing. Making it difficult for any one complete takeover.

  But it seems the Society is gearing up for things. Notice when one calls the Society's offices, they answer "Jehovah's Witnesses" and not "Watchtower." In their journals when they ask if you want a Bible study or contact, you now write to "Jehovah's Witneses" and then check among the list of branches in the back of the books. you'll also notice when they quote from one of their books or mention it, the footnotes now read "Published by Jehovah's Witnesses" and not "Published by Watchtower bible and Tracts Society of New York."

  They are also downplaying the whole "Jehovah's Organization" substituting it with "Christian congregation." So the organization itself is being minimized, downplayed and in its stead maximizing the "Jehovah's Witnesses."

  Hi JT,
  You're missing one very important point.
  In order for the Borg to make the congo's responsible legally, they have to be separated, just like in the old 'Ecclesia' days when Bible Student spin-offs happened with every WTS policy change.
  If any plaintif in court can prove the Big Shots still own the farm, they also can get sued. Watch out when the bros figure out that momma's hand is off their backs. If the local bros have legal title and the congo votes out the WTS, they are on their own.
  I think that the Borg are counting on keeping up the publishing for the congos and will gradually branch out. This is what the SBC does with Lifeway, which supplies all kinds of media for ANY church that will pay for it.
