choosing life
Interesting article. I don't believe that Christ is ever coming back to the earth in the future tense. He exists outside of time and has always been present. We may reach his level, outside the realm of time.

chosing life-- The bible does say he returns so to say he doesn't would be blaspheme. What about all that stuff of the lord descending from heaven with Gods trumpet and everybody that believes being changed and being with the lord for times indefinate? I don't have a problem with the invisible pressence thing but eventually every eye will see him as written and not just in a cartoon published by the WTBTS.

It would be interesting for Mr Newton to explain how Christ can return when he never 'came' in the first place!!

Christ would not return until at least the year 2060, and maybe later
Mr. Newton, I presume ?

Very likely, the question has been addressed before but I would like to raise the following point, just in case : we are explained that, because of the 360 day jewish year, one time (one year) is 360 years and 7 times (Dan 4 : 16) are 2520 years, which takes us to ( - 607 + 2520) = 1913, + 1 = 1914. Now, we note that this method mixes up two basis of calculation, 360 and 365 day years. If we do the whole calculation on the basis of 365 day years, why not, 7 times are 2555 years and good old 1914 turns into (- 607 + 2555) = 1948, + 1 = 1949. Just add 120 years on account of antitype (or type ? I forgot) Noah's days and you get to 2069, which gives us plenty of time ahead to reflect and find more imaginative computing methods.

choosing life
Heathen,
I don't mean to say that Christ has abandoned the earth. I do think that the word presence is more easily understood than coming. He cannot return in a literal sense, but he is and always has been present. The change that needs to be made is in human consciousness. Christ said he was the vine and we are the branches, as long as we remain in union with him. So we are already part of the divine if we choose to be right now.
I still find myself wanting someone (Christ) to come and magically make everything all right, but I don't believe that is what he meant by the statements you quoted. All we can do is choose to live in the present and take care of the small, but important role that each of us plays in this moment. This is where all life takes place in, the present. If we take care of our inner selves, we will also choose to take care of this planet.

Tho from what I've gathered from the NT that's the way it is . You have to hate everything the world offers and pray for Gods kingdom continually as that is the only thing that will make you happy .
