I just remembered I found a way to map the citation of bible chapters in the watchtower library (representing 30 years of wt literature). The results are quite interesting.

Higher number means more citations of that chapter in the wt literature of the last 30 years. As you can see there are a few favorites

P.S you can find the excel sheet with the table here: http://www.wikiupload.com/download_page.php?id=180628

EDIT: This link works better: http://files-upload.com/381479/Chapters.xls.html

You just have to wait 30 seconds before you can download.

Yes, I see, a few outstanding favorites. So much for the society following the "whole bible".

Wow this is amazing. There is a common theme to the top 4, which feature significantly more than any other chapters

Luke 21 & Mat 24 & 25- We are the Faithful & discreet Slave, do what we say or you will die with all the other goats. And we say it is the last days, you must sell more books preach.

Ps 119:105 - "your word is a lamp", ie believe everything the Bible says as explained by the F&D slave (see rule above)

    Exactly!

    - The gospel chapters are there for establishing authority

    - Psalm 119 is there to induce loyalty and obedience, as the footnote to Ps 119:176 (at the end of the psalm) in the Study Bible makes all too clear.

    - Favorite no.5 is Acts 2 (Han = Acts)

Well, feel free to distribute :)

So much for "All Scripture is Beneficial". It sure looks like they took a few chapters and used them out of context to further their own teachings. This is blatantly biased, betraying their use of a few key scriptures to support a scam. Of course, they do use other sections of the Bible just enough to provide the illusion of using them.

And what about Ephesians 2:8 and 9? I wonder how often the Witlesses are exposed to that verse, which states that it is the grace of God and not the works that results in the salvation, in context and at the meetings. The Born-Agains use that a lot and throw it in the Witlesses' faces, resulting in many an argument and difficulties in getting the Born-Agains into the scam. Definitely the Witlesses take what they can use to back up their scams and just enough else (out of context) to back it up.

The link doesn't give me anything to download.

It is obvious that the Y-axis is frequency of citation, but what is the X-axis? Labels would be helpful.

Ef 2 is in the higher range with 1829 citations over the last 30 years

Of course this is still nothing compared to the monstrous 32140 citations of Mat 24

    Talk of overkill

PS @Nathan: The X axis does not give any information, I just ordered the chapters from left-low to right-high on it. You can find the specific number of citations for each chapter (and the graph) in the excel sheet.

PPS I edited my starting post to give a better link.

    Thanks for the homework DeusMauzzim.

Matt 24, eh? There's a funny little parable in there.

You ever heard of cult tactics that repeat - repeat - repeat - repeat things to force an idea to become fact.

Very interesting! Fully 10% of their citations come from just 1% of the Bible.

20% cover only 4% of the Bible.

    Fun stuff!

(I do wonder how other religious groups would stack up in this regard. I doubt they'd fare much better.)
