Either way Registering to vote, or swearing an oath of office its still pleadging an allegence to the United State, a Government. I remember not being able to say the pleade of Allegence in grade school, again how is this any differant? For those who say its part of their job, my dad was DF'd back in the early 90's because the company he worked for made military parts and had Government contracts.

I was a Notary Public for a time when I was a JW; in Massachusetts then in Connecticut. I don't recall the oath as containing anything objectionable. I also was not required to register as a voter in order to be appointed. I did have to be interviewed by a judge to determine my character, however.

Oh, and it was no secret in the congregation that I was a NP; lots of the "friends" came to me to have things notarized (for free, of course).

I asked my mom.. she said that one of the elders in her hall is, because they have to have their Power of Attorney notarized and almost all witnesses have them now. (I hate that my mom doesn't have me listed as hers.. what kind of person does she think I am??) anyways.. she also cannot believe that he would register to vote, and didn't believe me when I said that he had to be, I took Political Science last semester and we talked about it in class.. She said that my (lawyer) teacher just must be wrong.
