Ever notice all the Kingdumb halls smell the same, like new books or something. I haven't been inside a kingdumb hall since a funeral I went to a couple years ago, but right when I walked in, it was the same smell. What got me thinking about this is I have a new book here, smells like kingdumb hall, but I guess what do you expect from a "religion" sorry publishing company, to smell like. Anyone else ever noticed that?

Now that you mention it, that's true. It's more like a new carpet smell to me though. Speaking of smells, does anybody remember how the Watchtower magazine used to smell a long time ago. I remember sniffing its pages as a little kid. You could almost get high off that odor!

it's from the gas they use to keep the rank and file in check.

It's probably mold infestation.
We have one down our way that has that. Most Halls don't have any windows, so they can't air them out very well, and I think that's what helps cause the mold spores.

I think it's from the books and mags...the smell is more pronounced around the lit counter.
My church doesn't smell like that.

I remember a defendant sweaty bum smell in the summer that was awful, especially if you sat behind the older folks, that memory will never leave for as long as I live. When everyone stood up for the closing prayer I held my nose.

It's either insense used to cover up the smell of burnt chicken from the secret rituals that the elders and their wives perform in the hidden basement on Saturday nights...or it's the new carpet.

Glad to hear you aren't a "seat sniffer".
