We must never forget.
Thank you, brother.
Mr. Flip,
wish there was a modern day "ghost dance" I could do to scare the hell out of the witnesses to open up their minds and stop their insanity! When the greatspirit in the sky takes his rest at night, I wonder what He thinks? I think we all know the answer! Peace out to you my friend and every human race on this planet, and the animals and earth as well. Mr. Flipper
Ghost dance in your heart my friend.

Brave Hearts:
I know I've posted this before, but it's one of my favorite T's. I finally picked one up at the last Pow-wow I went to.
I also like the quote:

A recent favorite of mine-- John Trudell: Look at Us
...an artist Kris Kristofferson once called "a crazy lone wolf, poet, prophet, preacher, warrior full of pain and fun and laughter and love...He's a reality check. Justice is a fire that burns inside him. His spirit cries out for it. It makes him dangerous."
The dangerous poetry and visionary music of John Trudell was forged by an extraordinary life, lived out in heart of the land and its people. Born of mixed tribal blood, John grew up in and around the Santee Sioux reservation near his hometown of Omaha, Nebraska. The struggle against economic and cultural deprivation would, in time, become the raw material for his uncompromising artistic vision.
Trudell, a Vietnam Veteran, served in the U.S. Navy from 1963-1967, attended college for a while and then dropped out. In 1969, Trudell participated in the occupation of Alcatraz Island by Indians of All Tribes, becoming a spokesman for Indians of All Tribes. After the Indians of All Tribes occupation ended in 1971, Trudell worked with the American Indian Movement, becoming national Chairman of AIM in 1973. Trudell was chairman of AIM from 1973 until 1979. In February of 1979, Trudell's mother-in-law, wife and three children were killed in a fire of unknown origin. It was through this horrific tragedy, that Trudell began to find his voice as an artist and poet, writing, in his words, "to stay connected to this reality." "The lines were my bombs," he continues, "my explosions, my tears."

What happened with the US versus the Native Americans reminds me of what is happening with Israel versus the Palestinians. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhfEWqBvav0
The desire for justice should make us all more dangerous.

...Indians hoping for freedom, from the the greedy white man and his government...
Just one greedy white man? Shouldn't have been too hard to overcome.
It is interesting to note that the Jack Wilson or Wovoka, the Paiute founder of the 'Dance In A Circle' had his original, pacifistic, co-operative intentions supplanted as his new idiation of the traditional circle dance spread to other tribes. He believed "all evil in the world would be swept away leaving a renewed Earth filled with food, love, and faith".
The Lakota seemed to take a more radical slant on it, believing (as anyone who has read Black Elk Speaks knows) that it would cause the white man to be swep away. As westerners first contact with the movement was through the Lakota we call it by what they called it. It's adoption frighten ignorent and brutish reservation supervisors. Yet another tragedy followed on from that.
