Way to be, Mr. Flipper.
I feel sorry for the old guy, but at the same time I notice he didn't protest too much. I wonder what he has on his mind already? What kind of doubts are creeping in? Next time buy him a cup of coffee and let him witness to you (and be witnessed to) in a cozy place where he can count time but also maybe do some real thinking.
Nicely done Flipper! I wish someone would come to my door, so I could have opportunity to bring this up as well. I would do it nicely as well, no point in doing so othewise.
There is so much secrecy involved in this organization, and very likely this isnt going to be the main title of the sunday public talk.
Good job!
85 to 90 % of these people do not know about the child molestation settlements
85 to 90 % of these people do not know about the UN issue.
85 to 90 % of these people do not know about the fact that for 14 years they had stocks in the military.
85 to 90 % of these people do not know about the WT being fined for polluting their own grounds.
85 to 90 % of these people do not know about the stocks they have in tabacco.
Mr. Flipper,
My roommate wrote a letter to the elders about the settlements and telling them she would no longer be donating any money to the WTS. They told her not to believe everything she read on the internet. I have written to some newspapers trying to get actual copies mailed to me and haven't had any sucess. Did you say you gave him a newspaper? I would love to have a copy of that paper also...she needs something to show them she's not talking about the internet. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! She hasn't been to a meeting since she gave them the letter and I know when she does go back they are going to want to meet with her.

oppgirl63, These on line news stations still have them in their archives. ....Napa Valley Register.com....boston.com (Boston Globe)?....Foxnews.com (although I don't think Fox news has a paper).
Did you try calling these to see if they have a newspaper article they can send you?
Hope this helps.
Hubert
I've printed articles off the internet and she gave it to them. These idiots don't believe it because it came from the internet. They need an 'old fashioned' paper to believe it. I just can't get anyone to mail me a copy of an actual newspaper with the article in it.
Sometimes when these experience pop up on the board i'm a little reluctant because sometimes the 'witness' that is given is a mean spirited attack.
But not you mr. flipper, you did a very good job! Keep up the good work.
If there is one thing I know that seems to get witnesses 'think' it is to let them feel that a potential convert has been turned away from the JWs because of something their leaders did. This is a perfect demonstration of how to do that.
Thanks for the kind words folks. Myself like others just feel like a small voice in the wilderness of this world we live in trying to open some of these witnesses eyes so they can see what their organization is doing to them. If we all join in together and expose this stuff about the leaders and what they are doing, even if it draws some away from it, it will have been worth while
O.K. my JWD friends, just wanted to bump this thread up for newbies so they might get an idea of how to go about talking with street witnesses about the child abuse scandal, considering the nationwide news now. Not that my way is the only way, but just wanted to give some ideas. Let's all be small voices giving out a shout for abused children
