Pec..I understand your love for animals.....I guarantee if that big cat wanted your kid,it would go for it.Whether you were there or not..Are you prepared for that?..It "can" and "will" disembowl your child in a heart beat and probably crush your childs head with it`s powerfull jaws..Once it realizes there is a new source of meat in the area.It will repeat it`s previous behaviour,to eat..And..Another kid will be on the menu..Big cats are smart and heartless..I live with them and many other wild animals.....My opinion has kept me alive many times,in instances where most people would have died.....Ignorance in the Wilderness will get you in trouble..Arrogance will kill you...OUTLAW
Dude, when your done can I have a drag on the crack pipe?
Let me reiterate, unless the animal is A) Screwed in the head, ie, disease, or B) starving to death, they normally do not go out of their way to attack a large human. In this instance the cougar responded to a small child, ie small game, ie doe, fawn, etc. The parents should have known better. Also, please show one study where animals who have tasted human blood become crazed blood thirsty human preying beasts? I have read studies in foreign lands where they have relocated predators to remote areas and they no longer have the problem of predator/human fatal encounters.
I have seen cougar and mountain lion in the wild upclose, and they have never bothered me (or my small nephews who normally accompany me). I have seen black bear with cubs a stones throw, and they always run away. I have only experienced being hunted once, and that was from a pack of coyotes and it was because the past prior years were dry, no game, and they were starving to death. Warning shots did not scare the lead dog, and unfortunately I had to kill it. It bought me enough time to escape and as I looked back the rest of the pack was tearing the shit out of.
So, in this case the parents were dumb asses and should never have been out there to begin with, much less leave the child on its own. Hell, what if the child got lost? Hmmm, who would we be blaming then, the mountain lion? Aroggance has nothing to do with it, its called respect and knowledge.
