A while ago I had a discussion with a JW who swung the conversation around to "the blood issue"...
I asked him that as he "abstained from blood", does he therefore only eat "kosher meat".
His response was "What's does Kosher mean" !
I explained, and he then told me that all meat nowadays was "kosher", and that the red juice that runs from a steak is infact "Meat Juice" and not blood, so it was okay to eat.
Hmmmmmn...
Anyway, here are the results of my "kitchen science".
I obtained some urinalysis sticks that detect the presence of blood in a solution.
I cut up some steak and added it to a glass of tap-water. I did the same with chicken. After about 10 mins I dipped the test sticks in the liquid.
Guess what ????
The stick in the middle is a control stick.
The arrows indicate which "pad" tests for blood.
Yellow
= No bloodGreen
= BloodThe darker the green, the more blood is present.
The stick in the middle is a "control stick"
Sad and geeky to go to these extremes (but that's me) I know, but I thought that a visual test was much easier to show than making a JW trawl through anatomy and butchery books
