Sell the patent to a company that will actually make a product.
Yes, that is the important part. First make sure you are the first to do this, then secure the patent. It's all 'sell sell sell' from there.

Look into getting a patent in more than one country. It will take more time & more money, but an international patent is more useful in today's world. You don't have to get every country, but should consider the big ones...
