Welcome Mr and Mrs Eagle!
Great story so far - my hubby and I are similar in that I'm sure people thought I wasn't marrying well as Besty obviously wasn't going to be a 'strong spiritual head', but I loved him, he made me laugh and he wasn't your average 'dub'. 10 years later we're going strong, stronger than ever now we're singing off the same song sheet.
Keep posting, don't worry about bringing up stuff that's been covered before. There are so many newbies joining here these days that I'm sure they're wondering about all the same things as you are right now and everyone here loves to help and give their 2 cents worth. It reaffirms to everyone that underneath we're all the same and we haven't been wondering alone all these years.

Welcome to the Eagle family!
I liked what you said about the Chuch you attend and your experiences there. It can almost be fun to attend a Church with real live human beings rather than hypocritical back-stabbing robots. You're right, with JWs it's all about the appearance of perfection, even when it's really all white washed graves.
Great first post! Hope to hear more!

Welcome to JWD,
My husband and I have been married 21 years, both raised JW but only his mom is JW. So needless to say no one we invited from the JW's (even our parents) came to the wedding. We were doomed and we might as well get used to being miserable.
You are right, our success is a *middle finger* to them! The nerve of those elders asking so many questions, demanding to see her dress and telling them add more material! I would have were to go!

Welcome to JWD - Glad you decided to speak up!!
We love all our newbies, here.
As far asking questions that have already been answered, it happens all the time and each time it does, it's fresh to someone new. If there was a particularly 'hot' thread on the subject, some may even post a link to it. Maybe not.
It's all good. Don't heasitate to ask. Also, some posters and lurkers have limited time online and just cannot spend hours hunting for a specific topic and rely on 'Active Topics' to find what's current.
Nice to have you along. Enjoyed your opening thread.
