A while ago, I posted this thread...

    http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/12/135699/1.ashx

    In which I said...

This is strange, I read that in 1995 they did away with the "generation" teaching, yet the official Watchtower website still says this, over 12 years later !

Thus, all the features of the last days must take place within the lifetime of one generation, the generation of 1914. So some people who were alive in 1914 will still be alive when this system comes to its end. That generation of people is now very advanced in years, indicating that there is not much time left before God brings this present system of things to an end.

Is the booklet "God's Purpose Soon To Be Realised" still current and does anyone have a scan of the page or the whole thing ?

    Thank you

    Then went on to say...

This'll be a good test as to whether the WT people read this forum.

If their website gets altered, then it is a certainty that they read the posts here - with that proof, we can disfellowship them all !

I have been checking that URL every now and then... guess what ?

Today, I find that is gives a 404 NOT FOUND message and doesn't show up in the search page from www.watchtower.org Coincidence ?

All I can say is : I hope they do come here and read. I welcome all GB, Elders and followers to come to JWD and read their hearts content. Just maybe someone will learn the real truth. That the key is not the Watchtower society but through Christ and him alone.

Although I don't doubt at all that they are reading here... or have minions that do, Web Masters can usually easily find out who's linking to them in their web stat reports. I'm sure they scan those periodically to make sure bad bad apostates aren't using information from their site for their own evil purposes.

There is no doubt in my mind that some of the watchtower's intelligence operatives regularily scan this, and similar sites. In reality, this is the least of what they do.

    Stealth.

I guess they're cleaning up their loose ends.

Not as efficient as the Ministry of Truth in '1984', but eventually they do get around to rewriting their history. Eventually no one will even remember anything different was taught.

Interesting, AlphaOmega. I thought I'd check to see if Internet Archive had archived the article. I got:

    Robots.txt Query Exclusion.

We're sorry, access to http://www.watchtower.org/library/pr/article_07.htm has been blocked by the site owner via robots.txt.

    http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.watchtower.org/library/pr/article_07.htm

    Robots.txt is explained here:

    http://web.archive.org/collections/web/faqs.html#exclusions

Perhaps they do this will all the articles they remove from their website, I don't know. Just kind of fits their pattern of doing things, however.

    Interesting, AO.

    Thanks for this "test".

I went over to the official Watchtower website just to stroll around and see what divine wisdom is being dispensed there.

    What a wasteland!

Bizarre articles with almost logic-defying reasoning can be found.

    Young People Ask . . .

"I got my first credit card offer in the mail when I was 16 years old. . . . When I turned 18, my debt was up to about $60,000." —Kristin.

Anybody who has a credit card knows the card has limits based on your actual income. Once you reach or exceed your limit there is no more accessible credit available.

To get a new card, your credit history is examined according to a formula. You cannot find yourself in $60,000 debt without an income of over $100,000 a year.

In other words, the above example is outrageous.

The thrust of the article is that CREDIT CARDS for young people are okay if you use them "properly".

Jesus Christ! What disgustingly irresponsible advice!!

Even Christendom is now waging a battle against credit card debt. The Watchtower is completely out of touch with reality!

Writers such as Larry Burkett and Dave Ramsey make it clear in no uncertain terms that DEBT of any kind is insane! But, they especially come down hard on Credit Cards!

The Governing Body would do well to monitor THOSE writers!

AO, that *is* interesting, the link does not work now. LadyLiberty had pointed out quite some time ago that the "generation" teaching was still on the WT website, now it's gone. Maybe we're actually *helping* them clean house.

Thanks Cabasilas for checking that... I have a local version saved on my computer, but that will now be dismissed as a "clever apostate forgery". Still, it was useful while it lasted.

Oh... by the way, "Hello GB and Bethel readers"... PLEASE stay... You have the power and resources to do so much good and with your evangelistic training you would be a force to be reckoned with. If only you would give people their "freedom in Christ".

    As Oldflame said...

You've been asking your members to knock on the wrong door for so long, maybe it's time to set them free.
