Reuniting with ex-jws from your home town

Has anyone had the experience from talking to ex-jws from their home town? It really is an eerie experience to talk to someone who knows the exact place, circumstance and lifestyle that you do. Even more so than the connectedness of places like JWD. Or to find out that someone saw your exit and had their own doubts at the time but were not brave enough to approach you. Marvelous really.

I'm meeting our very own MissPeaches (now MrsPeaches...) next Tuesday night, and looking forward to it!

I have recently had the pleasure of making a few on-line friends from JWD. A few of them are from my old congregation, and am looking forward to meeting up with them in person, as soon as I get back to Canada. The others, are spread far and wide, but hope that things work out so that a meet-up will be possible.

The thing I find interesting about us nasty apostates, is just how friendly and warm most are. I have made several real friends here, and we have never met.

Strange just how wicked we all are, and yet we can form real friendships with people we have never met.

That is the true spirit of friendship....much like the version the watchquirer teaches. NOT.

How true. And most of us aren't gathered around gnashing our teeth either.

I have a couple times, but lately I've been meeting up with JW's in my hometown that don't know (or just don't care for those who do know) and finding out what's been going on locally. Most couldn't care less that I'm no longer a JW.

Out of my friends growing up, 90% aren't active.

Bryan attended one of the same congregations I did, though different years. I found it neat since it's a 'in the middle of nowhere' place.

It would really be odd to find out that someone from my original congo had left the truth. I would love to know and spend hours speaking to them. It was a very small town and congo. Actually, at the time it was loving and very friendly. I know now, that many have scattered.

I had the chance to do so but chickened out at the last moment. I am still not fully free since my wife is a lifer dub and I want to keep my life private as possible.

I just noticed Mysterious is now an Emperor.... Congratulations and keep up the good posts..
