I can only hope that one day Cheney is brought to trial and made to pay dearly with a stint in a Federal prison. It is obvious he understood the extreme difficulties of installing a new government once Saddam was overthrown and yet pushed his agenda forward. I don't think Bush has the ability or desire to comprehend complex issues like this and was led by the nose by this man.

GW said we won't have to worry, they (US and Allies) will move swiftly if we have to invade Iraq. I guess time moves slower in Washington.
Thanks, elsewhere.

Interesting! Thanks for the link....Obviously, Cheney didn't know what he was saying, because, according to John Burns of the New York Times, nobody could have known this would happen.
"John, was it possible for our policy-makers to truly understand the way Iraqis would have reacted?..."

"My guess is that history will say that the forces that we liberated by invading Iraq were so powerful and so uncontrollable that virtually nothing the United States might have done, except to impose its own repressive state, with half a million troops, which might have had to last 10 years or more, nothing we could have done would have prevented this disintegration that has now occurred."
