well i grew up in the organization..and I had several committee meetings..I was privately reproved at 17 (for pot) at 22 I was publicly reproved (for sex) and privately reproved again at 31 for sex again....
so who holds the record for the most discipline while still in the organization???? I know many cases (mostly friends) who were df'ed came back and then df'ed again...I even know someone who was df'ed three times......
how many times were you disciplined???

I know of one friend who was DF'd 3 times, is still currently DF'd, but becoming apostate & atheist.
His offences were -smoking, drinking, sex.
I knew of one really good looking and charming MS who in his 30's admitted to a group of us that he had secretly slept with hundreds of women, many of them sisters, and he had been DF'd at least 3 times, all for fornication. I have no idea if he is in or not.
Last time I knew, he was.

Never. I was unbelievably terrified of doing anything to displease anyone else. I was not on the moral high ground, just terrified. Most JW's don't know right from wrong because the rules are against a lot of wholesome activities. Having a slice of birthday cake is seen as "bad" as drug use while beating up on people, physically or psychologically, because they are weaker or have less status is just fine.
How do kids growing up as JW's ever sort it all out and figure out how to be moral, socially appropriate people?

Once for buying pornographic magazines and twice for talking against the FDS and his policies in general.

drugs: private reproof
drugs again: public reproof
stealing cars: public reproof, barely, almost df'd, but, was convincing
"summoning demons" at school: elders meeting, wasn't baptized, so, they couldn't do much
drinking under age: private reproof
drugs again: another public, years after the last one.
these are not in order. and oh, if they only knew the stuff they weren't aware of, i'd probably be banned for life.

I had a lot of 'counsil' tossed my way ... but I got baptized later than most of the 'born-ins' so I didn't have to really buckle down till then.
I got "marked" once ... does that even count?
I should have been reproved for ... well ... at least drinking!

Lets see...I was a good little dubbie all these years (aka... no fun had by me) I did get private (unannounced) reproof once years ago...allegedly for lying (aka "double tongued"). I really, really wish I could tell you the reasons for the accusations, you all would roll on the floor dying of laughter and disbelief. (or am I a pathological liar even now? )
The whole thing was merely a ploy by jealous pioneers to get me removed as a pioneer and MS. I was soon to be appointed as an elder (or so I was told by one of the elders years later). The night after it was announced I was no longer a pioneer, I got a call to come to bethel (patterson) to temp 3 months. I could not go because of the action taken. I often wonder what would have happened if I had been able to go.....
cue: strumming harp dream sequence music: (lets seeee....probably served 15 years at bethel and married some bethel hottie...then asked to leave right about now to "help where the need was greater" during the bethel layoffs...struggled at middle age with no formal worldly education to find a job to support the wife and been disenchanted with the whole Borg and ended up here)..... cue: screeching of record player needle across record, sudden stop to harp.....
.....guess I was better off with the path I ended up on........and still ended up here
