It's a damn good thing I don't live in California! It's also great getting free computer stuff from friends and their friends. I wouldn't put that stuff on the net since they've entrusted me to recycle it, but I've increased my porn collection 100 fold.

well, it helps to make these ethical decisions sometimes if you turn the situation around. Let's say someone found your hard drive with a film of you, very very drunk, and posted it on the internet. How would you feel? Or, what if the government searched your trash, found private documents and took them - you don't know who will see them or what they'll do with them. How would you feel? Or, one of my favorite ways to make ethical decisions is to ask myself how I would explain it to a judge. If I can't come up with a good explanation, I don't do it.

I'd probably laugh my ass off at it. Knowing me, It would probably be a duplicate on youtube with me posting the original.

That's when you take pictures of them rooting through your trash and put them on the net :D
I know, I'm being a goof. But I have a pretty easy-going attitude with stuff like that. If I don't know them, who cares? If it makes me more famous, all the better!
With the journal I found on the XT, the person who wrote it actually had mentioned writing a book about her life, and having her journal published. It almost makes me feel like I'd be doing her a favor. I'd change the names though - I'm not that mean. Oh yeah, and her resume wouldn't be posted either.
