Those REVELATION BOOK changes in full

A recent thread ( http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/11/139118/1.ashx ) raised the issue of Charles Taze Russell NOT being the first president of the Watchtower... it appears to be an argument of semantics because the society had a different name (as one poster pointed out in the thread)

However...

The Watchtower Society obviously has some embarassment over this issue because the amendments to the Revelation Book dealt with this :

Similarly, many references to Rutherford being the second are also removed for obvious reasons.

The file unzips to an 11Mb HTML file, it uses ActiveX, so be prepared for Internet Explorer to throw up a warning about it. Once you have okayed the warning, after a short period you see two panes in your browser, you can now compare each version of the Revelation Book side by side.

Ignore the first few pages as that has to do with the contents page of the book.

I'm fiercely defending my old edition of the Revelation book at the moment - managed to get it just before they brought out the new one.

The JW who brought it seems very twitchy about the fact that they gave me that one instead of the new one - they were going to try do a swap but I said as long as there aren't any major changes I'll be ok with the copy I have - I don't want to them waste money getting another copy...

Well, what could they say?

Nice thinking ! I had to settle for a new one... but I managed to get an old one from www.abebooks.co.uk Now the two sit side by side on my bookshelf like two peas in a pod... ...Except one pea is full of made up cack and the other is full of new made up cack !

This is interesting because I found an article on their site claiming "The Society's first president, C. T. Russell, died in 1916 and was succeeded the following year by Joseph F. Rutherford." It's under the article "Their Modern Development and Growth". I'm hoping this link will take you there. If not, I searched under "presidents" and got the article. It claims it was published in 2000. So I wonder why the change.

Oh boy! so now Russell was not the first president and I can not use the Studies in the Scriptures to prove false doctrines! They do make it hard on us ex JDUBS.

You know if the light is getting brighter than how come the Revised Revelations Book is worse than The Finished Mystery book for its time? Really now, How many people do you see going door to door with the Revelation Book? I personally think all five of the Revelation books are toilet paper books fit for any modern out house!
