oh i missed that, haven't had time to read all 7 pages of posts yet will have to look when kids are in bed!I'm about half hour from Clevedon in Taunton, but i used to stay there a lot with my mum. She showed me the house which was the kingdom hall (just an old big house) and i did take my books once meaning to go on a sunday but chickened out thank goodness! Tbh i remember what we were all told when the panarama program was going to be shown, we were advised the two witness rule was a load of lies, not to watch the progtam, anyway we did with my hubbys family and i couldnt hear half of it cos they were tearing the victims who appeared on it apart, even bitching about their personal appearance and they must be liears looking like that! (nice family i married into - not!)

I am a new fader - Not been since April, although did do half a day at the convention. I have no intention of going back to that hole. The fact that I have tried to discuss this latest scandel with the JW's i work with and am just getting "its so bad that he claimed to be a JW" replies is pissing me right off. No one is willing to be honest about the feelings about the dirt paedo, and I don't want anything to do with an organisation that allows children to be in such danger on a regular basis.
The Jdubs have seen the last of me....au revior!

This whole pedophile thing could be the next thing that causes a decline in membership...similar to the failed 1975 expectations and the 1990's "generation" thing.
I can just hear the loyal dubs now:
"They just used the child abuse as an excuse to leave."
"They never really loved Jehovah at all."
Or my personal favorite, uttered by one particular self-righteous hypocrit on a past occasion: "They never really had the truth to begin with."

Again, this has to do with secular injustice and not the WTBTS. The question should be, what are we going to do about judges who hand down such light sentences.

its so easy:
there are NO scandals, everything critical are lies by apostates or at the maximum just imperfection of some few individuals. in the end its gods organization no matter what.
its carefully constructed. EVERYTHING can be strengthen your faith in the religion. even scandals.
- no scandals: YES, its gods religion
- scandals: satan is out to spread lies and destroy us. He.Will.Not.Succeed.- the number of JWs are increasing: gods blessing
- the number is decreasing: were close to the end, its a small door, we must stay JWs now- doctrines stay the same: what a blessing! this is the truth because we had it right decades before!
- doctrines change: what a blessing! god gives us new light! thats the truth!etc.
there is NO way to get someone out of the cult by ANYTHING. some would stay followers when the GB would ask them to kill.
the first step must be done by the believer himself... noone can do it for him. if he does he MAY look at scandals different and starts thinking.

There was a mention on the thread for one at least that this was the final thing for the person. FYI. It is good to see. Hard for the person I am sure, but very good to see. I hope they stay around for support.
