At the hall last night

I went to the hall last night to get an Insight book and a Concordance. I had set it up with an elder ahead of time to get them. I arrived after the meeting had ended, walked up to the counter anxious to leave as quickly as I came when a big brother came up to me, planted his body in between me and the literature servant and started giving me the third degree about who I am, what is my standing in the congregation, and what did I want the books for. He began to give me a schpiel about how the books belong to the Society and not just anybody could have them. The brother was huffing and puffing, actually angry at me for some reason. He asked me how many meetings I had been to lately. I said that was none of his business. He then said, well you are going to have to leave now. I said I had been attending meetings sporatically and that I had been sick for awhile. He started laughing at me and shaking his head and said, "Well, I've been here every meeting and I've never seen you." I said, are you calling me a liar?" He said, "well how come I have never seen you?" I said, "Well I've never seen you either?" "As big as I am you've never seen me?" "Can I just get my books and leave?" "I already told you to leave. Do you want me to call the cops?' "I haven't gotten my books yet" "I'm calling 911 right now." So I left.

When you have dealings with stupid people you will fare badly. Every single encounter with these sick and ignorant people just drags me down and makes me pity them more and more. God how I pity them!! They are just getting worse and worse all the time. Sicker and sicker.

Maybe you should have let him call 911. The police don't take kindly to being called to a scene where the "emergency" is that you wanted to buy books.

Next time, take a tape recorder. Let him call 911, and get a proper drubbing from the nice officers who respond. Post the taped "conversation" on youtube, if that's legal.

I would have said that I just moved to the area and lost a couple of books in the whole move and needed to replenish. Would have made up a cong. name and said i was from across the country. What was he going to do go do background check?

Not the case actually. Like I said, I had already arranged with an elder to be there, and he had ordered the books for me. Apparently elders have been told to start reighning in on "worldly" people getting certain literature, no doubt because so much of their stuff ends up on the internet and being analyzed critically. They don't mind giving their literature to people who take it as gospel truth. Just like now they have one WT for insiders and another one for outsiders. Nothing makes them madder than other people using their literature to make fun of them. Just like their suing watchtower quotes.

another good idea is to go after a spanish meeting ends and say you are from the english cong. and lost a couple of books. I do admit being from the spanish cong. they have very little clue on the real truth and are more prone to taking people's word if they say they are from the english, especially if you don't look hispanic and are dressed like a bro. haha! fools!

I sort of feel sorry for the spanish bros since most of them don't know the true WT background and just do as they're told. Most of them are so poor they can't afford to buy a computer much less understand how to use one unless they're hispanic-americans like myself.

He did not have any right to treat you that way! Call up the elder and let him know how this man treated you! I bet this guy has a problem and it has nothing to do with you.

It really is non of his business and you were in the right! Anyone who can walk in the kingdom and get books. DFD people do it all the time!

I do not care why he thought he was in the right non of that matters! The fat man needs stopped. Wow!

You know they have changed too much and are rude group of people. Where are they getting this attitude? Are they learning this rude behavior from pioneer school? LOL

This is my personal experience after getting reinstated; One minute they are sitting by me and laughing and encouraging me, and the next meetings they scat like a bunch of rats! It was very upsetting to watch their changes. I mean if I said something that was apostate like I would understand, but that was not the case.

Everyone is way more intrusive and the elders act like they own you. I mean more so than the English speaking congregations.
