This might be a bit far from you, but I wanted you to see that it is available.
This is certainly closer than the Forbidden City, and cheaper:

If you ever go gliding for a day, I might just join you.

When I stood on the Great Wall of China, I didn't really think about how far I was from
a Kingdom Hall. Now, in retrospect, I was as far from WTS's reach as a person can get.
If you never fly, seeing a wonder of the world can help you to get away from your cult past.

You might consider something more affordable if China is out of the question. The
GRAND CANYON comes to mind, or just the top of some high mountain or a nice
fishing creek- these are wonders of the world, too.

I saw a little of the Grand Canyon as a kid - but don't recall much of it. Niagra falls has always been a favorite of mine too.

If I ever do the 'glider thing' I shall let you know.

I am just really impressed with the Far East as a culture. I wonder if they are as impressed with ours?

I've been there...plus the Yonghe lama temple, Tiananman Square, and the Temple of Heaven. Very nice. Loved the lama chant at the lama temple, very beautiful I had to tape it....too bad the Chinese have not acted towards Tibet in the same spirit expressed by the founders of the temple...
