Most are dumb and going on to plain stupid,
I knew one really good elder. John Holtham, who unfortunately is not now with us.

PS . it had little to do with education. The wisest P/O I knew had a rudimentary schooling and a humble background, did a manual job, but had an insight of people that I have never found in the business world.. Sadly I think that standards are falling, as most today are "company men" raised in the Borg with no experience of the world outside

Perhaps they are afraid to support gays and lesbians. They treat them as if they were disfellowshipped, unless they accept a study and change. What I don't understand is on what grounds do they do that, since gays and lesbians in the world are no different than anyone else in the world. After all, they commit fornication and adultery, steal, worship idols, and the like in the eyes of the Witlesses.
Maybe I should stop doing business with companies known to be run by Witlesses on similar principles. Many of them are pedophiles, and they silence the victims. None of them are honest (the honest ones are going to be weeded out in the coming months). And they are all perpetrators of the big scam that the Watchtower Society initiated. If the shoe fits,...

More than I care to think about. My first work day at Bethel. A group of us go to our assigned floor. We get introduced to the floor overseer and get our assignments. Everyone goes off except for me, who needs a chat. So the floor overseer asks if I have read the latest magazine. I say yes, which isn't entirely accurate and wonder where is conversation is going to. He asks if I happen to notice a picture within this certain article. Yeah, I say. At least I look at the pictures in the magazines.... So the picture is a scientist, white scientist, in the usual lab coat at a black board trying to make a point about evolution or something like that. The scientist has a moustache. So do I.
In this elders mind, if you are white and have a moustache you believe in evolution. My first thought was, I think I made a bad choice in coming here and four years to go. I could not believe what I had just heard. Over my time there I had seen and heard other brilliant examples like that.

Years after the fact.................the dumbest Elder I knew was myself.
Mainly because I really believed the CRAP and wanted to enforce it with all my might! That part put a lot of other CRAP in my family's life. I almost destroyed my family with my ultra theocratic attitude. And once I got my head together...........my family life improved like you wouldn't believe. I resigned as an elder and 6 years later after my wife died.............me and my daughter got our eyes opened and are no longer a slave to Brooklyn.
Now..........I don't think I am.......... or was so dumb. I learned from this experience and now I am able to think.

None of them out here are too stupid, just not sharp on the rhetoric. Only two elders in the hall--possibly three or four, with some new transplants--can really argue what they know. But they can be caught making interesting flubs...the PO, in my first confrontation with them, kept pronouncing fallacy as "fail-acy." I had to correct him, which through him off his spiel for a bit....

I would go for "inept" more than dumb. Uneducated? Mostly. Some fancy themselves as extra wise because they are an "older man", but that doesn't mean much. Bad system, bad execution. Escape while you can. W.Once
