I just got off the phone with a brother from the UK branch, in the Service Dept. there and he said that unfortunately this guy is still a member in good standing, although since his conviction they are planning to form a judicial committee and consider the matter that way.
he may indeed be a rich man after the court case, i dont know, what bothers me is that jus making a comment on him makes me an accesory.apparantly making a stand for some1 who is already condemend inthe eyes of the world n u r shot down in flames. what i didnt realise is that making a spelling mistake makes you a figure of ridicule within the ranks of ex j,w,s
Is well known in the uk that he was dfd yrs ago, think this is something thats been jumped on by press as breaking news.
I'm in UK as well and it's not well known to me. Where is your information?
All the media, newspapers and TV, in the UK have been describing him as an "Elder" in the congregation he was in. Though at the time of the offences he was a Ministerial Servant in Clevedon. Somerset. Which has not been denied by the JW's. Even those of his own congregation knew him as an Elder. In 2000 he moved to London and became an Elder in the Mill Hill Kingdom Hall, Barnet, London. So much for the "holy spirit" choosing Elders.he may indeed be a rich man after the court case, i dont know, what bothers me is that jus making a comment on him makes me an accesory.apparantly making a stand for some1 who is already condemend inthe eyes of the world n u r shot down in flames. what i didnt realise is that making a spelling mistake makes you a figure of ridicule within the ranks of ex j,w,s
It doesn't make you an accessory at all. Don't worry about that. All you are doing (and all we are doing) is commenting on current news articles, using the information in them. Is the guy actually worth "making a stand for" ? Whether he was a JW or not at the time.. it still makes him wrong ! It is a relatively easy thing to check on... Infact, I am in the UK, just like you... How about after the Bank Holiday Monday is over, one of us calls the London Bethel and asks ? Will you do it... or shall I ?
what brother in good standing? who were u talking to? n why do i have to take his word for it, n you dont have to take mine?
what service department exactly?
thought it might get your attention, thats why.
It is a well-known fact that when you become an x-JW you must go through JW D-tox academy. I don't know how you got out of going. I'll report the matter to x-JW headquarters. But there at the academy, all new inductees of the xJW comunity must take a special course called "Spelling 101," before you are allowed to graduate. So there is no excuse for poor spelling. Please leave your name with the moderators so the XJWPD can escort you directly to customs where you can get a temporary xJW membership card upon enrollment in Spelling 101. If not I'm afraid we'll have no choice but to persecute you on this board...
xnmad - your posts are really difficult to follow. I think one reason may be that you are trying to reply to each person's posting directly. But the responses are displayed in the order they are enterred. If you reference by 'Active Topics' (at the top of the screen) and view the thread as a whole, you can see what I mean. It helps, too, if you at least use the name of the poster (and if you can, cut and paste their words to put in quote box.)
I think you probably have some valid points to make but it's really alot of work to follow you. The note script abbreviations make it tougher.
