I saw Paul's answer to a reader's question on his watchthetower website this week:
"We are not saved by knowledge but by simple faith in Jesus Christ. When I first got saved I didn’t believe in a literal hell. That was left over from my JW upbringing and indoctrination. I knew however, I was saved. The more I studied the Bible the more the Holy Spirit convinced me of truths from the Bible. On the literal flood, I think you need to do some research and study. Like you, I had some doubts over the years about some things related to science and the biblical accounts. Being a Christian does not mean you “check your brain at the door.” A few weeks ago, I went to northern Kentucky to the Creation Museum. The ministry is composed of scientists (real PhDs) who show that the creation story and universal flood of the Scriptures truly jive with science. I think some Christians believe there is not a reasonable scientific explanation for biblical facts. There are. Of course one must interpret the Bible. The biblical writers were inspired by God yet God allowed them to observe and report on things in their historical context.--"
I wondered if anyone else has been to the museum outside Cincinnatti, Ohio. The museum just opened up this year and appears to be very popular with Christians. I once wrote to the museums sponsor, answersingenesis.com about Otzi, the ice man mummy that was about 5000 years old. That would make him a contemporary of Noah and Methusaleh. I wondered how his body could have survived the flood frozen on top of a mountain under an ice glacier. They told me that the scientist's carbon 14 dates were all wrong- so not a conflict at all with the Bible. See how easy that was to figure out?
