While it's a tough read, for me it's amazing. If you have a interest in purely biblical stuff you would probably greatly enjoy it. If your just looking for dirt on the dubs I would suggest going else where.

ISOCF was the better of the two (IMHO) as it deals much more with what he feels has gone wrong with the JW faith in general and much less with the specific events leading up to the early 80's shakeup.

It is a tough read. It is very thick, and very deep on scriptural application and why the WTS is
doing it wrong.CoC was more revealing and impossible to put down. Learning about the Governing Body and
the serious flaws was shocking. There is some of that in IN SEARCH OF CHRISTIAN FREEDOM.ISOCF is definitely "Christian" and supportive of the Bible actually being "God's Word." Still, I enjoyed
it. There are many comments I have made on JWD which are based on thing read in ISOCF.The first book is a must for every last JW or former JW. The second is a good idea. It would be a must for me,
but not everybody. -

Ray was quite clear in his writing that his hope was that people wouldn't use his book to just have "freedom", he wanted to steer people to a correct understanding of Bible principles.
For me however, I love freedom -- it doesn't have to be Christian to be freedom. By the time I was partway through CoC, I already felt free. The second book was just icing on the cake.

I bought ISOCF but I just haven't gotten around to reading it yet.

ISOCF..did more for me than CoC. I had to prove to myself that the WTs viewpoint on things like blood and esp the claim first century christians had a governing body were incorrect so this book was a catalyst for me. His book is tremendous in refuting these things using WT references..I had to put a copy in the local library since it was so good.

I could not put down C of C but ISOCF was definitely best read in parts spaced well apart IMHO
