QUESTIONING THE OBVIOUS or deconstructing Jehovah's Witnesses

"If God wanted them to call themselves "Jehovah's Witnesses," why does the NWT rendering of Acts 11:26 say that it was by divine providence that they were called "Christians"?"

That is why jehovah's witnesses are a cult in the first place. The fact that they disunited themselves from the rest of Christianity by transmuting their denomination to something resembling an anarchist proves they are not the true religion of God and not Christians. That "New Bible Study Method" (aka studying Zion's Watchtower Pubs) is plenarily unscriptural and was made to detract people from the bible but to lead them to untruth from Russell.

Genuinely appreciate this dissecting of where these particular credences emanated from and how they commenced. Clever utilization of erudition and enlightenment.

Maybe the obvious should contained in the fact that the JW organization is really a expansive and connecting religious literature company and that the Kingdom Halls are really its own sales representative training centers.

Yes. In that sense, the roots of the JW movement is 'apostate' in nature.

One of the best conceptualizations/descriptions that I have read of what the Jehovah's Witness community actually is, comes from an anthropologist, Dr. Jena Bachus-Lichenstein. She did some amazing embedded research in a Mexican JW community. In her doctoral dissertation, she defined the JW community as a 'textual community', rather than a 'religion'.

It is 'the text', the authoritative text that originates with the Watchtower Society, that binds and defines the JWs worldwide.

I like Dr. Bachus-Lichenstein's definition. The Jehovah's Witnesses are a 'textual community'.

    Good description Orphan Crow

..... and all the written text is godly directed through the men who are the head executive editors for the Watchtower Corporation.

Read the printed text and find out what god wants and expects of mankind to receive his special reward

and not be killed as it were.

Why is that important to humanity right now ?

Because judgment day is soon and even sooner.

The org purposely uses Jehovah as many times as possible throughout talks, articles, and books, in order to cement into the JW minds that Jehovah and the org are one in the same and if you leave, betray, or talk bad about the org or their arrangements you are in fact speaking against Jehovah himself. Another thing is how the GB has taken over the role of Christ as head of the congregation. If Jesus is mentioned once during talks it's too many times. It's all about mind conditioning.

If you stop and think about it since the vowels FORCED into YHWH are arbitrary and the use of Adonai is pulled out of thin air as a model, the correct pronunciation of God's 'name' could well be ANYTHING.

    I vote for: “YaHoo WaHoo!”
