It certainly gives you a "take THAT WTS" feeling for the only time in your life, doesn't it? I wrote mine after 30 years association, on October 11, 1999! My only regret is that I didn't tell enough JWs the real reasons for my "sudden" departure from the Borg. I wasn't as strong then as I am now...it comes with time AND the learning of MORE damaging information about them that I did not have back then.
I was pretty much on my own (with the exception of the love and support of some terrific online friends) and it WAS hard at times....but I have never regretted DAing myself for an instant!

that is, Letter of Disassociation and Denunciation, I like that word. . .in person in the door of one of our ex-elders and via email to him and a few others. There was an added level of peace in doing that, which neither of us expected. It made us feel good, complete, extra free and alive.
if this gives you closer.. peace.. anything positive for you both.. then good for you!
