I wanted to take a sniff like a wine critic...swish it around my mouth, afew times, then spit it back in the glass and say; "Yes an excellent vintage, very mellow but a little dry, seven out of ten."

Never wanted to taste it, always wanted to spill it, thought it would be funny!

After the meeting an elder thought it woudl be funny to have us kids try the emblems (what kind of message did that send?...its special only during the Memorial, but now the bread is in a ziploc bag, you can try it... I often wondered why anyone saved it? They did not reuse it each year! I did taste that crap we had and it is blaaaahhech. Tried the bread too...
I have no religious feeling of going to heaven...I think that too is a human fantasy to make us feel better about death.

9/10 to drink the wine
1/10 to actually go to the memorial.

My family would always make me feel better by telling me that as JWs, "we celebrated the memorial". So, at least there was something to celebrate. It was always passed over me, so I didn't get to smell the wine until I was much older.
The bread, Manna (spelling?) unleavened bread... it intrigued me when I was a kid, but now I'm pretty sure it was just pita bread. Right?
