My feelings to you is make your post and move on. If someone wants to carry it further they will pm you. You cant please everybody. It's like tv if you dont like one post go to the other.

If you want to form an army ,do like the other generals.

This is a board of former sheep, Some have transformed to wolves. They all run in packs except Los Lobos.

I'm continually amazed by the variety of opinions expressed here.

I think there are also friendships here between persons of differing religious and political views.

This board is constantly in a state of flux, with posters coming on and others leaving. If you look at posts from years past, you will see an entirely different list of names. Group dynamics change as sets of posters change, IMHO. The group posting at present is, overally, very welcoming and open compared to some in the past.

In the past, there were two different posters having hard times. One was supported by almost everyone, and the other was treated shabbily. I never understood why.

Stick around and watch the colors in the kaleidoscope come and go.

part of the problem is that we can't see or hear each other - so we miss out on nuances we would pick up on in face-to-face conversations. Also some people are just more opinionated and vocal than others. And some people get their feelings hurt, and some people are intolerant. Human nature - but this is a much nicer place than the KH so I think you are wrong there. I still think the forum is great even though I wouldn't say I'm popular. I've always been more like an ant at the picnic, so no change here, still an ant at the picnic.

The simple fact is that there are lots of people who don't like to hear opinions that counter their own and refuse to take part in meaningful discussion (ignoring facts and sticking to dogma).

I don't like when people are insulted or have personal attacks. I would much rather people stuck to discussing their opinions. It is possible to respect and be friends with someone that you disagree with.

I think if at all possible we should be welcoming and patient with people.

Generally it's pretty good. There have been some incredibly 'nasty' people in the past but the current crowd on JWD is pretty nice I think.

I personally LOVE to debate things, it gives me a different point of view of things and sometimes I will change my idea or my concept of something might change but I really don't like it when someone is contradicting them self, b.s'ing me or stating a belief as a fact. I sometimes call them on it and I try to remain polite. A mob mentality? Maybe, it happens every where.

My thanks to all who replied. I guess my Deep South upbringing is showing, but I was trained to be courteous to all and that there is NEVER an excuse for rude, boorish behavior. Again, thank you.

I can also remember times in the past when there were some aggressive posters, by those standards today's JWD's collective character is fairly quiet.

Only JWs are never really welcome here just they wouldn't welcome ex JWs on their forums or have anything good to say about them.
