  There is a disturbing trend in my area that desperately needs attention from Headquarters.

  Congregations are getting together for picnics, parties, "fun nights", etc. This shocking disregard for Theocratic Order reached a head recently when what should have been termed a "GET TOGETHER" was flagrantly referred to as "THE CONGREGATION PICNIC"!!! Even by Elders! If this trend continues, JWs may actually start enjoying each others company and performing spontaneous acts of love and human kindness.

  Please send a Circuit Overseer with a shotgun ASAP!!! This must be stopped before it gets out of control!!

  Yep its happening here too!When i got maried 13 yrs ago we were told no discos no barn dance etc and no alcohol, but nowadays they regularly have skittles matches at pubs, their own band that hires a hall and plays live music with the jws dancing (that is a funny sight though!) plus any excuse for a get together -thanks v much jws you could have done it a bit sooner and i could have had the barn dance i wanted then lol!

  It's all fun and games until someone whips out a golden calf and starts worshiping idols. Today it might be congregation picnics but tomarrow it will be naked pagan rituals with animal sacrafice. It's a slippery slope and get togethers are just a gateway activity that leads to heathenistic activities. This madness must be stopped.

  What is a "skittles match?" In the U.S. Skittles are a fruity candy.

  Skittles is a popular english pub game, think the ten pin bowling game came from it.

  We have the skittles sweets over here now too.

  JWs aren't supposed to eat the red Skittles because there's blood in the dye.

  The picnics pose the greatest danger. Before you know it a net goes up and a volleyball game breaks out. Having a spirit of competition is bad enough but an ankle could be sprained. This could hinder your ability to participate in field service and posssibly meetings. Can't you see this is how satan operates?

  On a serious note, I kind of wish it wasn't happening. It is a positive reason the wife and kids will continue to be somewhat attracted to "Da Troof". Oh well. One volleyball spike at a time.
