The WTBTS could justify anything, if they got their lawyers on the project.

My wife told me thatif I ever shaved off the beard (very short), she would leave me. Well I shaved it once many years ago and she phoned her mother and cried on the phone for 15 minutes. (she never saw me without it). So I guess I can never be a Witness. I suppose Jesus could not be one either. Is that a contradiction, and who cares. Sort of like the arguement that Jesus was tied to a pole instead of a cross.
I was just saying in another thread that in the book "Paradise Lost to Paradise Regained" (maybe I have the title wrong), the pictures depicting Jesus, nailed to the "stake" show him free of any kind of facial hair. Do you think that was to curb any confusion toward the JW ideal, that beards are unacceptable?
When I was younger, I never accepted those pictures as Jesus, because the beard WAS Jesus!!! -

our race is meek and teachable?? is that what i'm really reading? i'm better at sports than academic studies. I have good rhythm. I have an unusual sexual appettite (or did i still that stereotype from the jews?) i am meek. i am teachable. because i am coloured. that is actually the thought of a lot of brothers in the french congregation in america and italy because we mostly preached to africans. In italy At each assembly a brother had to give a speacial part telling the brothers why they can't use the informal form of speech with Africans while speaking politely to white italians. why they couldn't shout out to them HEY MOHAMMED or ALI BABA (when his real name was not those of course)or HEY MY FRIEND giving them a big ol' tap on the shoulder. Why they couldn't assume any person of colour was automatically african even if they said they were american or british or french. they felt they didn't have to jump through hoops to preach to africans. they just had to use the intellectually insulting speech of the require brochure and that's it. When the householder was not convinced he was ridiculed and behind his back called an 'intellectual' who let his italian university education get to his head. They were so condescending to africans in the territorry i was embarassed to walk around with them and insult these people with whom i share a common background.

In my locale, the 1973 advice was still being given at least into the early 1990s. It was framed as "advice" but indeed strong pressure, loss of privileges, and even shunning happened to mixed couples.
Here are some more horrific quotes. "Brochure: Are JWs Loving?" http://www.jwinfo.8m.com/activism.htm#Brochures -

Because Jehovah has not commissioned us to convert the world, which is wicked beyond recovery and hence will be destroyed. Jehovah has commissioned us to preach the gospel.
Is that the biggest oximoron or what?? LMAO!! Not commissioned to convert the world, we are commissioned to convert the world. What idiots wrote this bit of pukaganda? It's disgusting how wits justify their racial prejudice. I remember two mixed couples growing up and believe me, it was talked about. I remember getting really livid with someone who was justifying it by the society's "stance" that the world was still so prejudiced, that it wasn't advisable. I asked the person, well, if we obey God rather than man, shouldn't we set an example by not allowing this world's warped ideas to sway us in such matters? I got looked at like I was smoking crack. Pretty much everyone I knew growing up as a wit, did not support interacial marriage, would never say it was wrong, but highly discouraged it. Yeah God's people my @@@!

I know many many interracial couples in the organization, and many of them are at bethel - that isn't the point of my thread though.
Only one picture has been posted that MAY show an interracial couple in paradise.
Has anyone seen an inter-racial couple in a paradise picture in the WTS literature? I will say that I do not recall ever seeing one.

You probably will not see any pictures of interracial couples in Paradise. There are very
few pictures of interracial couples in any situation in the literature. The WT literature is designed to have international / multicultural acceptance. Occasionally,
they offer a different cover for their mags in areas where the generally accepted one is
offensive to some group. I think they do that less and less now. Now they just try not to
offend anybody, including racist bigots. (Of course, they don't mind offending Christendom
with their photos, but don't want to tick off any potential recruits.)Back in the day, I was dating a sister of a different race. The C.O. said to an elder that if you
look at the pictures of the Gilead classes, you will not find interracial couples. He said that
the marriages just don't seem to work that well. I was shocked at this older man's view of
what was okay and his justifications. I was only in the religion slightly over a year.Well, that same month, I examined the new Gilead photo. How wrong he was. The husband
and wife never stand together in those photos. You have to put them together by last names.
There were interracial couples in the photos. I had to insist that the elder point it out to the
C.O. as he was afraid to do so. "If you don't show him this, I will, and I won't be nice about it."I can't say much more about the outcome (as it outs me) but I progressed to MS and elder
AFTER that C.O. left. -

That pic is not an interracial couple. That looks like a classic "Hector and Maria Lopez" situation right there. The side view of the lovely lady is fooling some, but look at the children. Very apparent, to me at least.
Anyway, it is pretty clear what the people in charge of the Society think about these matters, in general. We all know what Jesus thinks about it (or at least we SHOULD!). -

My family is 4 gens of JW mixed raced major, and the Watchtower's racial relationshits suck.WHY? because you have couples that hook up to prove that the JW new world society ain't racist. So, they don't marry cause they love each other but because they have an idology to prove.
So,what about same race relationshits in the new world society?? Same deal they get together not because of compatability but because.. "I can overlook his/her faults cause you are diamond in the ruff that Jehovah is gonna make perfect for me in the new system" (coming in 6 months)
Maybe I saw a bad sampling but think of your circuit and how many cases,in my last hall it was extreme, older woman with toy boys half their age and men mostly elders with trophy wifes that look like their daughters. This would work out IF armageddon comes quick other wise look forward to changing daddys diapers.

Now this is the yuk part for me:
The Christian is under obligation to proclaim the good news of the Kingdom to others. (Matt. 24:14; 28:19, 20) As a factor, then, he may consider whether or not interracial marriage is likely to create a seriously adverse effect on the attitude of the people in his community toward this Kingdom-announcement work. ...However, after weighing all these factors thoughtfully, each Christian must make his own decision—in good conscience and motivated by love for God and for his neighbor.
My daughter married a man from Africa, and prejudice infuriates her. She says I and my father did not prepare her for backward attitudes, as I and my dad are color-blind (not literally, figuratively). To choose a partner based on how the community might respond? Reprehensible. Followed by the fake disclaimer that it is up to each individual's conscience.
